Jake The Snake Robert to debut for TNA

Jake Roberts told wrestlers after the most recent TNA iMPACT! tapings that TNA hired him, the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter reports.

According to Roberts, who has lost weight and feels better than he has in years, TNA creative is working on a plan for his on-screen debut.

This story has not, however, been confirmed independently of Roberts.

If he did sign then i guess the idea of him...being the mouth piece of Synn could be interesting

Re: Jake The Snake Robert to debut for TNA

The only way I'll be able to accept Jake Roberts in a ring again is if somebody loaned me a time travelling Deloreaon and we 88MPH'd it back to 88'.

This is a ridiculous signing. He'll get a pop based on who he is, but after that? Blech...

It really says something about the writing teams of both major organizations that no MAJOR stars have been created in the past five years. Cena's the biggest one I can think of and he's universally hated among the "hardcore" wrestling community. Sure, wrestling has taken a hit (it always ebbs and flows and we are in a lull), but maybe that's because it's just been so god awful the past few years (not the wrestling so much, but the writing).

Plus, UFC is really denting my friends who "were" wrestling fans. They all love UFC now (as do I).
The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further!

Unless you get someone so chrasmatic, it takes long to build up someone into a major star. Austin was wrestling for what, six years before he became a star. Hogan was in the game for a few before he made it...and that wasn't because of wrestling. It takes awhile to make a "major star". The only exception was The Rock, and we all saw how long he was for pro wrestling.

And remember, The Rock was an accident. It was a last ditch effort to satisfy Pat Patterson. It just happened to work. The point? The WWE never really tried to have two superstars at the same time. Think about it. Up until the Attitude Era, that was how it was.

And plenty of true top level guys have debuted in the past six years. Guys with growing fan bases who can draw good money. Guys on the level, or evebn surpassing Jake The Snake. There's so many, where to begin?

As for the signing...they don't need to have him on-screen, but whatever.

I thought he was dead. I must be thinking of Ravishing Rick Rude.

Roberts is just as crazy as Hogan and Flair to come back to the ring at this age. The guy is 51 years old and if he didn't lose the gut he will have a hard time moving around.

Sinn has been in the back at one of the shows and he brought in Roberts, to discuss a angle that Sinn wanted in which he wants Roberts to be his mouth piece. Also Reports has it that Roberts has lost a lot of weight.

                Crack screws up your bones.

Well, whatever angle Sinn has in mind better kick ***. If not, Dixie and Co. were better of smoking the rocks themselves. J/P, Jake is supposed to be clean now. And if Jake is involved, I have no choice but to give this chance. If it's true.

I think this will either turn out to be one of the better signing for TNA or quite possibly the worst... it's all about Jake's attitude, and his health, both mentally and physically. He did great with Orton when Orton RKO'd him on the Legend Killer storyline... if he can be gold like that on the mic I think he has the potential to be good... quite frankly though, I'd keep him away from the ring and strictly as a manager only.

I know TNA is all about the washed up guys from WWE, but this is ridiculous.

I think he's better suited in a backstage booking capacity. The man has a great wrestling sense about him. Hopefully by being exposed to the business again that he doesn't get drawn back to his demons.

I recently saw the WWE Jake the Snake documentary and I thought it was pretty fair and balanced which is rare when it comes to Vince and Company.

Nope it was Jake the Snake Roberts: Pick your Poison

Beyond the Mat was a hatchet job IMO.
