    Am I the only one....

    ...who can't watch today's product?

It seems I just can't watch much of today's product without either getting bored by the lack of "real" wrestling (i'll explain that in a second) and the storylines being kinda boring to say the least.

I'll be giving ECW a chance when it starts airing here in Canada. I have faith in Paul Heyman and Tommy Dreamer in putting out a quality product and hopefully it'll get me to watch some Raw or Smackdown again.

As for the "real" wrestling comment, well I think it has more to do with how the wrestlers convey the emotions and present a story within the match rather then throwing together a few moves here and there.

Yes, some of the guys from the old days were quite formulaic but they at least tried to tell a story rather then go through the motions. Just a couple days ago I watched a pretty good house show match between the conquistadors and the rockers fer cryin' out loud!

Wrestlers today (most of them) don't seem to have that true love for the business as the older guys did.

Re: Am I the only one....

Before me, my parents were huge wrestling fans. They watcj SNME every week. They loved Hogan. When they tried to watch PPv's with me and my sister, they couldn't and thought that today's product was garbage.

My interest in wrestling is on and off. I was a fantatic before, but now, I'm a bit more casual. 'm trying to get into it, and I too like ECW. I think Vince and his whole attitude crap changed wrestling. It's way too much of a sideshow now with **** like Diva Search and crappy female wrestling.

Also, the guy's who are good wreslters don't get breaks because they aren't god's on the mic.

It's bad all the way around. Look at Summerslam. Hogan, DX, ECW, Flair, McMahon, and Foley. People and concepts well past their prime. I would say they should look to the future, but what future??

Im not sure exactly what your talking about here at all. Yes I know a few of the one's u Mentioned are a bit past there prime...Foley and Flair yes, and even Hogan but he is fighting someone who they are looking into his future.

What about Edge vs Cena for the WWE title, I'd consider them both for the Future.

I also know the DX is kinda not the same now but Triple H and Shawn Michaels are still 2 of the best there are.

Now I agree Wrestling is not as good as it was back in the 90's and such..and sometimes I wonder what im watching but To say itz doing so bad and to say What future will make Most laugh I would think. The future is bright, They just have to make it work.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. It's not that there isn't a Future it's that the booking is so slipshod that it'll look crappy no matter how GOOD those guys are.

You can't help but smell the stench of the McMahon arrogance in the booking these days. At least when he had viable competition he'd throw his ego out the window a bit and actually put out a great product.

Shawn is nothing compared to what he once was. He has like 2-3 moves. When was the last time you saw him do a suplex???

I totally agree here, Vince has went overboard with putting himself and Shane into all these storylines and matches..Well actually the same dang one just lasting almost 8 months now.

Vince has the future to play with, He just has to make sure he and the Writers use them right. The thing tho is as long as Vince is making the Money he is making I dont see how he would think they need to change anything, You never fix something that ain't broke.

I actually believe TNA is in the Same boat also, If they can keep building up there talent pool and such they could be big time, But if they dont they will not work out right. I also believe if TNA could ever get into Real competition with WWE it could maybe put WWE over the Hill. Would be great to see 2 company's going at there best against each other again, Just not on the same nights hopefully

I will agree with this for sure, Shawn doesnt really put the matches on that I believe he still could. I still like to watch Shawn Michaels more then I do most wrestlers and he's a very good Entertainer, So That I believe makes me think he is still one of the best.

I will say I think if he had to I believe he could wrestle a great match, Just like he did last year at WM with Kurt Angle.

If you don't like what you see on WWE programming, there's always TNA. There's ROH. There's your local indy. There's puro. If you like wrestling, you'll be able to find something that you'll like if you just look. I for one couldn't stand what was going in the WWE/F from '02 to around '04, so I went to indy shows. I bought DVD's. It's really not a hard concept to grasp.

Talented youngsters are popping up everywhere. Look how many excellent workers have debuted in the past 6 or 7 years. You're going to tell me guys like CM Punk and Bryan Danielson don't have the love for this business? Just because Vince wants to push green workers who would rather be modeling doesn't mean young, passionate workers aren't out there.

And do we forget what we were forced fed in the early to mid '90s? The WWF was even more rediculous than it is now. WCW gave us great matches, but the angles were ********. It was not a good time to be a wrestling fan.

As for Shawn Michaels...The man broke his body entertaining us for years. If there's anyone wrestling full time for the WWE who can mail it, it's him. But you know what? He hasn't.

If people really were wrestling fans, they would know that there's plenty of stuff out there that could make you happy. You don't have to depend on the WWE to get your wrestling fix.

Re: Am I the only one....

ECW is the only full show I've been able to sit through recently.

Raw well I like Edge,Nitro,Carlito and Benjamin but 3 of them are fueding with each other so it's pretty easy to only watch that.

                    SD only London & Kendrick.

TNA I just stopped watching when JJ decided he wanted the title again and now is against Sting. WCW 2000?

Now the harder to get stuff:

ROH is either great or boring as staring at the wall.

CZW I can watch but haven't seen anything since COD 7.

OVW is near impossible to get and I've never seen a full show though I did really like the Punk vs. Kennedy match wich is the newest thing.

JAPW only manage to find single matches.

Jersey All-Pro is very good. They usually have a great mix of different styles, but not to the point where you're there for 6 hours (like UXW here in NYC). I've been to a few shows and was pleased.

I think of myself as a pretty big wrestling fan but most of the stuff that intrigues me are in the "hard to find/obscure" area and I don't have the cash to spend on it.

That being said i'm not complaining because wrestling is BAD. I'm complaining that the mainstream stuff is bad. I'm preoccupying myself with WWE 24/7 these days. Unfortunately the last couple months have been duds in so far as the themes go but i'm really interested in September where it looks like they'll start showing the actual shows from the territorial days!

                        Championship Wrestling from Florida 10/12/85
                        AWA classics 1/30/82
                        NWA Wrestling 4/6/85 & 4/13/85

Hopefully the territories will remain a permanent fixture on WWE 24/7!

Wrestling today is just stale. VKM needs to worry about Raw. If it's the flagship show they need new writing. That Kane vs Kane storyline was just dropped. Never got to see who is was and why? I can't stand Eugene. The tag team scene sucks. You see the same "few" guys, doing the same movesets with very few suprises. The way things are now, I can't wait for Monday Night Football. But I'll stick to ECW, but I hope there are done with the all WWE mainevents.
