    So it can work.
Windham wasn't anywhere near the obnoxious loud mouth Austin was. Windham might've worn cowboy boots, but his character was a lot more civilized than Stone Cold. Add the fact that the enforcer role isn't played by the most chrasmatic member of the group...and you have failure.

You're probably right but you have to admit the general idea of my little fantasy is still strong

That's too predictable. Cena could be the leader and they could use the other spots to put guys over. Maybe Kenny and Val Venis. I know Kenny will always be the cheerleader, but he's great on the mic too.
Right now, Cena is the exact opposite of entertaining. He's stale as it is. IF they were to turn him heel, I might see it differently. But I question how much the E would want to do that to their highest pushed face. The "who better to lead the NWO?" question is a good one, but it says more about the current situation on Raw than anything else. I'd start with Edge personally, which might work in theory with Lita probably leaving.

Besides, a lot of what made the original NWO work was the "Outsiders coming from WWF" quasi-angle as well as them using more turns to never have to do a clean match, which can't be done/would go too far against Cena's yawntastic 'take on all challengers' approach that has been built up since forever. But it's probably better the NWO stay dead, like DX should have.
