As a middle school and high school teacher who has discussed wrestling with students between periods, I've always said that the reason the WWE can get away with the crap they do (Diva search, stupid angles, pushes for people who don't deserve them...) is because the majority of the audience is more clueless than you internet smarks can imagine.
In the past two years I've seen kids (the same ones) go from hating HHH to loving him and at NO POINT has Cena ever been anything close to disliked. The teenagers LOVE him. I can still remember when Chris Masters debuted with that masterlock challenge...every Monday morning a certain group of kids would ask me if I thought anybody could break the masterlock...
There was even a kid who was convinced that the Undertaker was REALLY buried alive and that he used black magic to return to life!
I'm sure Umaga's win streak has been eaten up over the summer and I'll hear about it on the first day back I'm sure...
P.S. THEY LOVE THE DIVA SEARCH (if only because it's better than scrambled porn and Maxim Magazine).
