London & Kendrick vs. The Gymini - Crowd was way in to London & Kendrick, The Gymini were getting major heat by working over Kendrick and the place exploded when London got tagged in, London pins one of the Gymini for the win..
Smackdown Starts
The show kicks off with a video showing Lashley saying he has no problem wrestling Batista tonight, and he picks Finlay for King booker to face, The King is then shown saying no problem.
Rey Mysterio & Matt Hardy vs. Gregory Helms & Chavo w/ Vicki - Rey Mysterio came out to one the biggest pops I've ever heard, he was very over and Chavo was getting a lot of "you suck" chants thrown in his direction, no heat at all for Helms but Hardy had some girls screaming, pretty good match, a lot of Hardy worked over until Rey makes the save and does a double 619, Hardy hits the Twist of fate, Hardy pinned Helms, huge ovation for little Rey.
Elijah Burke w/ Sylvester Turkay vs. Tatanka - This match sucked, not a lot of good here, Tatanka does the job and then gets beaten up by Turkay.
Backstage vignette - King Booker tells Finlay to lay down for him, Finlay asks Regal if he would lay down, Regal says he would, which came was so unconvincing, he then makes an excuse and leaves, Finlay says he won't lay down for The King, Booker is not pleased.
Finlay vs. King Booker - Booker was booed out of the building, Finlay was cheered, I guess for standing up to Booker, great match as always, Finlay is on fire and was really looking like a bad *** the whole time, Queen Sharmell was starting to interfere a little and Little Bastard comes out from under the ring with a toy mouse and scares her, the Ref and Booker look over at Sharmell and Bastard while Finlay gets the Shillelagh out from under the ring which he then uses to smash King Bookers knee in, Finlay pins King Booker relatively clean.
Jimmy Wang Yang vs. Sylvan - Yang was over which surprised me, Sylvan pinned him after a pretty short match.
MVP comes out to bore the audience with an announcement that we might think we know good wrestling but wait until No Mercy when we will learn what good wrestling actually is, the crowd was giving him the "WHAT" treatment the entire time.
Batista vs. Bobby Lashley - they shook hands and did a lot of tie-ups followed by reversals, pretty good until Booker came down and attacked Lashley, Finlay then came down and attacked Booker, all hell breaks loose, the highlight of the night as Ricky Steamboat, Mike Rotunda, Dean Malenko, Johnny Ace and Tony Garea all come out to try and restore order, Teddy Long comes out and announces that Booker will face Lashley, Batista and Finlay in a Fatal 4-Way match at No Mercy, King Booker is not pleased.
Backstage vignette of King Booker complaining about the 4-way to Teddy, the other 3 come in and Teddy Long declares the 4 of them will wrestle in a tag match tonight.
Backstage promo of Michelle McCool trashing Ashley this leads to...
Ashley w/London & Kendrick vs. Michelle McCool w/Idol Stevens & K.C. James - Girly fight which contained some of the worst wrestling I've ever seen, Ashley blew about 5 spots, she went for a Boston Crab and somehow managed to blow that, when she finally got the Crab on McCool K.C. James came over and helped her get to the ropes, McCool used a School Boy roll-up and grabs Ashley's panties to get the pin.
Ken Kennedy video is shown of him saying he isn't afraid of the Undertaker and he isn't as stupid as the people who watch Smackdown and buy into his evil bag of tricks, he came across pretty well and said he won't be intimidated by the Undertaker.
Bobby Lashley & Batista vs. King Booker & Finlay - pretty good match a lot 2 counts, Lashley was getting beaten pretty much senseless until Batista got the hot tag and cleaned house, he was beating Booker pretty bad when Regal came out and started attacking Batista, chaos breaks out as everyone attacks everyone else, Booker and Regal walk up the ramp while Batista Poses on the ring apron taunting the King, Batista poses some more as the show ended.
All in all, a fine night of wrestling enjoyment.
And now, there's no undercard for No Mercy. Who knows, maybe they'll suprise me with a Finlay title win.
