TNA iMPACT was fantastic tonight doing a great job getting over LAX more in a very short couple of segments, getting some hype behind Abyss and Somoa Joe at BFG, getting the World Title involved as the centerpiece of the show, getting a LOT out of the Jarrett/Christain tag team while showing the differences between two heels and getting over their hatred for each other.

I hate it when guys fued and then suddenly one guy turns heel and they are best friends, TNA - kudos on not having that crap.

Also Ron Killings looked great again in the Main Event Tag Match w/ Daniels and I just can't believe that TNA can't find a way to get him more involved. He is super over, he has great spots, and he can actually wrestle with his spots! Killings has one of the best punches\uppercuts in the business today and he is so good at the face role. Back in 2002 I thought he was incredibly believable as a mega-heel in NWA-TNA and he is just as versatile as a face in 2006. As seemingly "simple" as the What's Up? catchphrase is, it just works.

Christain Cage came off great as an a$$hole in every way tonight and so did Jarrett. Cage is really shining as a heel right now again.

The Rhino-Eight Mile video package from detroit was well done by TNA. Rhino is really over as a face and also as an injured face in peril at BFG. The Christian\Rhino fued has been very well handled to this point.

TNA is doing a great job of having the World title as the focus right now. JJ is the champ, Joe has the belt, Sting will be facing Jarrett at BFG so he has an interest, Cage wants the belt, Abyss and Mitchell want a Title Shot and the belt, and Cornette wants the belt back from Joe. Great little sub-plot that gives everything a little more meaning. On the other hand, I think they have criminally ignored Senshi's X-Division Title run. He needs some video packages, some chances to show his skills on free TV, and some time to seoerate himself from past champions and he hasn't been given that chance in my opinion. I hope they begin to hype the Sabin vs Senshi match at BFG soon. And PLEASE TNA~ NO MORE JACKASS #2 stuff!!!!

I love it when Konnan calls AJ and Daniels "Those two hoes". I don't know why, it just makes me laugh.

We get to hear from Kurt Angle next week which should be cool.

All in all I thought this week was exactly what TNA needed and I was entertained all the way through.

I don't care for the Jackass stuff, but let's be honest here. Without it, Jay Lethal's the black guy, Sonjay is the Indian guy and Sabin's just another Vanilla Midget. They would be languishing in X-Division hell wrestling in 8-ways that no one would care about. This gives them something to do and, most importantly, gives them a little personality.

good impact last night. TNA does well with there promo packages and the Sting Package was very well done, It was a nice touch by TNA with Rhino's promo with Eight Mile and the insert of Sing for the moment beat as well as the way his promo was delivered was like Eminem's from the movie where I believe he is sitting in the bus.

the more and more i see LAX, the more I really like them. Konnan is very good on the mic, I believe that LAX is the best Heel Tag Team to come across in wrestling for sometime.

The problem with the Jackass #2 stuff is that it's turning Sabin, Dutt, and Lethal HEEL when TNA wants them to be faces. The crowd boos viciously when the Jackass stuff gets involved in a match and they seem to have the most disdain lately for Sabin and Dutt. I'm worried that this Jackass stuff will kill all the face heat they've been trying to build for Sabin.

But it's a reaction other than "these guys can wrestle, let's clap". Without some type of gimmick, no matter how silly it might be, these guys would just be interchangable.

The TNA crowd is rejecting this because they just want to see them wrestle. If it turns them heel, so be it; they need something to bring them out from the pack. Wrestling (in Jay Lethal's case) and flipping around the ring (in the case of Sabin Dutt) won't work when you have guys with more depth to their character doing it and doing it better.

Re: ***Official TNA IMPACT Preview/Discussion 10/5 Thread***

I see where you are coming from, and I'm all for bringing each guy's character to the forefont. I think at this point after so many attempts to get Dutt over as a face it's time to turn him heel and maybe have him fued with Lethal.

Sabin is weird to me. He has all the ability, a couple of really nice signature spots (hesitation dropkick, cradleshock), but he can't seem to really "catch on". Seems to me he could be the next AJ Styles or the next Elix Skipper depending on how things go in the next 3-6 months. I thought some of Sabin's best mic work was against Nash when he went toe to toe with Kev on the mic about his "size." I thought that was gonna be his breakthrough on the mic but it never happened. Sabin is the kinda guy that I think you have to "set-up" on the mic, like Nash did. He needs to play off of other's comments instead of trying so hard to say "Hey, look at me!". I think Sabin could make a good face smartass type or even an arrogant face like AJ Styles was early in his TNA career.

Lethal is really very short into his TNA career so I think it's kinda unfair to judge his "character" yet, as he hasn't been given a real chance yet on the mic or in an angle. I thought he was at his best against Jeff Jarrett on iMPACT and people can say what they want, but JJ can have a great match against almost anybody. If anybody remembers the "Fear the Fro" angle with D-Ray 3000, I think Lethal could tweak that some and come up with something maybe. Lethal could just say off the wall things in short bursts like that and really get the people behind him I think. Simple, little things can really spark a charcater in wrestling today. He already has the "Lethal Weapon" chant going for him, so he needs to use that if he can in spots.

I like Lethal a lot, not so much Dutt and Sabin. Just to clear up the misunderstanding, I wasn't judging his pre-Jackass character, but how that character would get over in the long run.

First off, great Impact again last night. Really looking forward to Bound For Glory. With all this "who has the title" stuff, it makes me wonder if Sting/Jarrett really be a one on one match, or not a gauntlet of some sort, the way Rhino won the title last year at BFG.

But anyways, I agree with everything you said JJ about Dutt, Lethal, Sabin, etc.... As much as I like more wrestling than the stupid stuff, I agree about them needing characters. The only thing I disagree with is, in my eyes, it's fine for Impact, Xplosion, etc...but when I pay 29.95 to see a great Senshi/Sabin match ruined by the same stupid crap is when it makes people as myself angry. I just hope they don't do it again at BFG.

Oh, I defenitly agree with you on that. I don't think PPV is the place for stupid finishes like that.

They have done 1.0 before but, that was awhile back.. they haven't done a 1 for a bit now. They did a .9 and now a .8.....I really am lookin foward to them getting out of this time slot they are in because hopefully they will draw better.

Yeah, once they lost the UFC lead-in, they lost a whole lotta viewers. They went from a high of 1.2 (remember when everyone said they were "growing") but since they lost that lead-in, they've been struggling. Tells you something, doesn't it?
