Things you would do in TNA?

Just curious what you guys would do if you were in charge of booking TNA? Here are some things I have liked and haven't liked and would change. Would be great to hear what all of your opinions are? Please don't post if you aren't serious in contributing.

    1) Wrestling - don't forget what brought you to the dance, and why the fans you have love and enjoy your product.

    2) Stick to segments such as LAX, Abyss/Christian/Sting, and Angle/Joe from Impact this week.

    3) Quit with the WWE bashing, respect WWE and be your own company. They have enough publicity, separate yourself completely from them, with the exceptions of mentioning wrestlers such as Angle/Christian were great champions there.

    4) Keep your PPV's above the rest. You proved what you can do on PPV. Keep doing what you do best. Eliminate the BS on PPV's. I don't mind the DQ title changes, but do them on Impact. People pay $30 to watch wrestlers settle their feuds. All the interference is fine as long as there is a 1-2-3. (ala all Jarrett matches).

    5) Quit with the stupid gimmick stuff such as Eric Young wrestling in a turkey suit. Wearing it is fine, wrestling in it, awful!!!!!

TNA needs to be more consistent and stop with stupid bookings.

Angle/Joe was really the only fleshed out storyline, if there were any. The undercard matches at the PPV were just thrown together.

Tacks, Barbed Wire, Hitting with title isnt a DQ but a simple ref bump is? That's a joke. I watched the tag team on thursday with a 5 minute double team in ring in front of the ref. That's a joke.

    Get rid of Tenay please.

Don't make dumb storylines like "LAX being unamerican, you lose the belts".

No see, I disagree with the DQ finish. I didn't like the fact it happened on PPV, but here is how I see it. Just take a second and think. TNA will pretty much allow everything in a match as long as it's wrestler on wrestler, but Sting punched an authority figure(such as the referee) intentionally on the stage. If it's accidental, aka Stinger Splash the other night on Impact, it shouldn't be a DQ. Therefore he should have been disqualified. I think that's how it was supposed to come off.

The LAX thing was stupid, at least it's not going to happen now. They have to defend the titles against Angle/Petey this week. I like Tenay and West. Tenay knows his wrestling and West is just dumb-funny, he makes me laugh. They may go overboard sometimes, but so does the other crews elsewhere. They all have their own annoying slogans.

Personally I also think that losing the belt in a DQ is quite dumb, for a few reasons.

I've never been a fan of Tenay either, and most people that i talk to dont like him either. West is take him or leave him for me.

They should try to be more realistic and edgy. Get rid of Tenay, Don West, Jeremy Borasch, Jim Cornette. They have a lot of edgy guys like Samoa Joe, Angle, pretty much their whole roster but they have these lame, old commentators.

Well the WWE has their share of "old" commentators in JR and King.

But who do they get to replace them? There aren't many wrestling announcers out there. Maybe it's time for Mike Goldberg to do double duty. Surely there are some announcers on the indy circuit that could make a run at it.

I think TNA is edgy, for the most part when it comes down to it. But when TNA tries to get even more edgy, it's criticized and considered garbage wrestling by incoherent idiots such as one writer from the Torch.

Take Impact this week. The show was outstanding other than the VKM segments and maybe the Eric Young segment(but the people loved it that were there), but some people bash TNA just for something to do and not just sit back and take it in and try to understand where they are going.

They taped 3 hours of wrestling Monday night. They book it for a 3 hour wrestling show, not 3 separate shows, and the reviewers don't take that into account while watching. Plus, I'm sure some over there at the Torch are a little biased($$$$$).

Thanks for your views guys, keep them coming.

                I think its basically...

Take the foundation which is laid down... get rid of the excess (again, anything that smells of RUSSO), and refine it. Try to get a few workers out of the indies as well.

Also, they need to get rid of the studio feel.

Sometimes if I flip through it almost seems like a wrestling game show. The commercial breaks and such.

Please don't give Russo anymore ideas, lol!! But then again, I wouldn't mind seeing a version of Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal come back.

Re: Things you would do in TNA?

They need a two hour show. I feel that one hour dosen't allow the time they need to set up fued and storyline and comes off unpolished and confusing.

I used to watch their weekly wed night PPV that were on for two hours and they were outstanding. This could also give the wrestlers more in ring time for the wrastling aspect of the show.

I can't understand why anyone is knocking Vince Russo. The show on thanksgiving was exactly like he would write it so i'm pretty sure he did and I thought it was a great show. Vince Russo does certain things that some like and some don't. Like the Abyss title change, I did not see that coming, but Vince Russo does like the young talent and he likes to bounce the belt around. Hell remember back in the attitude era where someone would win a Championship on PPV and the next night drop it to someone on RAW, that was Vince Russo. Unfortunatley I think Russo was also the one who put the WCW Championship on David Arquette. So he hit or miss. But I think hes dead on with most of his stuff.

But yeah two hour show, then they can continue to lay the claim to the "future of professional wrestling"

I enjoyed the show Thursday as well, even so much I watched it again last night. I just think they need to quit insulting WWE and respect them a little more. I think they'd get more fans by complimenting WWE than bashing them with the VKM stuff. But then again, Bischoff did it and it helped take them to the top.

Re: Things you would do in TNA?

There are tons of things that I would do differently, but I also like as to how they are continuing feuds and storylines from Genesis.

I agree that TNA needs to continue with the wrestling aspect of what made them popular. One reason why I have watched TNA is due to the central focus on the wrestling and tag team matches. It feels like the old NWA where we were blessed with good wrestling matches + an abundance of tag team wrestling. I like the whole thing with LAX being controversial, but was kind of taken too far with them wanting to burn the flag and then Cornette was going to take the titles from them, only to have a lawyer say they couldn’t. That is some stupid booking if you ask me.

I was upset that Sting lost the belt to Abyss with the DQ finish, but it was done in such a way that you see another personality coming out of Sting that is much edgier than ever before. I think that TNA is trying to recreate Sting as he dumped the crow gimmick with a new one and now has a different attitude. I also feel that Abyss was due a World Title sooner than later, and this is a perfect opportunity. Now not only has TNA created an interesting Sting vs. Abyss feud, but they have continued the Christian Cage involvement with Sting. I would really like to see Sting or Christian win the title back from Abyss, but would like to see Sting walk away with the belt so he could be the one to lose the title to Samoa Joe.

The whole Voodoo Kin Mafia crap is getting on my nerves. It was kind of funny with them making fun of themselves while trying to attack the WWE, but it is just time to really leave the WWE alone since they need to work on their own identity. Yes, they need to respect the WWE which I almost feel that TNA thinks their bigger than the WWE by doing these stupid skits.

AJ Styles heel turn if that is what’s in the works could be great for TNA. It is time for Styles to go back to the other side of the fence and that’s be a heel. It will allow him to work with guys like Angle, Sting, and another feud with Christopher Daniels.

TNA really needs to start traveling for their PPV’s, the IMPACT ZONE looks so second rate for PPV’s. Bound For Glory really looked very nice being in a bigger arena for a change and didn’t look cheap.
