TNA Breaking Up Another Tag Team!

Dave Meltzer reports that Andy Douglas appears to be done with the company now that creative has decided to break up the Naturals.

    -----

First AMW, now the Naturals, what in the world are they thinking.

I have no idea whats going on...you would rather break up 2 of the Top young Tag Teams just to keep 2 dead weight tag teams (Team 3D and VKM) in the picture. I would rather have LAX, AMW and the Naturals at the top of the division...despite AMW was stale and Naturals lost Direction quickly with Shane Douglas as the Manager. The Tag division is quickly starting to look like the WWEs junked up Tag Division.

Andy Douglas had the charisma of a foot and the team just couldn't get over the hump. It's a different story now in TNA than it was two years ago and they just couldn't make the transition. That's what happens when you're not as good as your hype.

It's similar to American Elemental being the MAW champion until the MAW rises in popularity, and the new main event scene is dominated by Scout and Nemesis.

Nemesis retired and he's a road agent.

TNA went the wrong direction with Douglas, he shouldn't have been this hardcore manager that they made him to be since they were losing. It was a stupid storyline. It's TNA making mistake after mistake.

AMW, one of the greatest tag teams that I would place in the same league as LOD, Midnights, Demolition, Harts, etc.

How can you compare them to those teams when outside of the maybe 2 million people that sometimes watch TNA, nobody knows who they are.

They've been teaming for 4.5 years, longest timeframe that a tag team has stayed together since the mid to late 90's. They have won 6 NWA World Tag Team Championships in that 4.5 years.

Now, let's take some tag teams from the USWA, UWF, WCCW, ECW, NWA 80's, Early WCW 90's, and the AWA. There were talented tag teams that crossed these promotions, but just because viewership wasn't that high, it will not stop historians from ranking the top teams in tag team history.

How did these guys get 2003 2nd runner up Tag Team of the year in Pro Wrestling Illustrated and win the honors for 2004 and come in 3rd for the 2005 ballot. They beat out teams like The Guerrero's, Dudleyz, and La Resistance. Granted tag team wrestling has somewhat died a slow death in WWE since 2000, you can't say that AMW does not deserve to be on the list of top tag teams. I never said they are Top 10, but belong in the same ranks/league as the Road Warriors, Steiners, Midnight Express imo. I know this storyline will not work out, AMW will be a team again as they tried something similar once before.

i also dont agree about AMW being in the same league as the other you mentioned especially The Road Warriors. sorry maybe top TNA team of all time, but thats as far as i'd go.

PWI awards, you said it yourself, they were top 3 those years because of the poor tag team divisions.

and YES i watch TNA and like it.

I never said they were the top 3 for PWI Tag Team of the Year due to poor tag team divisions, the tag divisions in WWE has been poor going back to late '99/'00. My point is that they were voted ahead some big name tag teams, that are more well known than these guys.

I made the comment above talking about how tag team wrestling has been in decline since 2000, nothing to do with the awards.

It's my opinion and I don't expect others to agree on my stance with AMW.

TNA has had a better tag team division than WWE since 2002 and that is one thing that nobody can really argue about.

my point was them being in the top 3 go hand in hand with poor tag team wrestling at the time.

AMW's the team of the half-decade, but only because of the weak state of tag team wrestling since the end of the TLC era. It really is by default since no team has had the longevity and accolades this decade. But maybe LAX can surpass them, we still have three years left.

There's so many teams throughout history who were together longer and accomplished more in DIFFERENT places. They're not even top 20 material. To put them in the league with the Road Warriors and the other greats means they're in the top ten, whcih they're not.

I can list 30-40 better tag teams than AMW, but to me they are on a overall list of great tag teams if I had a top 50 or 100. I guess when I meant their in the same league, I should have been clarifying that I'm not talking about accolades or the aura that those teams brought to the ring. The league I'm talking about is being on the same list for Top 50-100 greatest tag teams. Nobody can't deny that Harris and Storm are talented.
