    Smackdown 1/26 Afterthoughts

I just finished watching this past weeks Smackdown and man does this show just get better every week.

It was cool having Gregory Helms vs. Batista to start off the show as I'm a big fan of Helms. I would love to see Helms move to the U.S. Championship division next, he has the look that could sell as a heavyweight champion.

I laugh everytime that I see the Miz, that look just is not him. It works for Shannon Moore, but just something about him. The look on Benoit's face was priceless when the Miz first came down to the ring. LOL!

What's up with this Maryse chick?

Deuce and Domino need some better music.

King Booker vs. Finlay, another good match. That was funny Finlay grabbing on booker's hair.

MNM/Ashley vs. London & Kendrick/Melina. Tag team action on SD has been great and only continues to get hotter and hotter. With Nitro & Melina being a floaters now between SD and RAW, that helps add to the feud between The Hardy's.

LOL! JBL said that last year was the Golden Age of tag team wrestling on SD. It the golden age since your other show has been lagging in the tag team division.

I really hope that Mr. Kennedy does walk out of the Royal Rumble with the World Heavyweight Championship. Kennedy has come a long way since debuting and he would make a great champ. Adding the Undertaker in the mix is great, Taker nailing Batista by mistake makes things interesting.

Vladimir Kozlov is a beast......He still in negotiation, he can compete in the Rumble. That would be cool if he does come in the Rumble. He did get many boos, since he loves the DOUBLE DOUBLE E.

    Damn does Crystal look fine.

Very nice Kane retrospective from previous Rumbles.

Kanve vs. MVP was ok......nothing too special as I think that MVP still has lots of work needed to be done in the ring.

Over the Top Rope Challenge, Kanve vs. Booker vs. MVP vs. Chris Benoit vs. Miz vs. Finlay was ok. I really liked ECW's on tuesday as it opened the show. Then we get the Undertaker who joins us halfway through the match as a surprise attacking everyone.

I have this feeling that The Undertaker could be winning the Rumble. If it's not Taker, it could be a shock like ......................CM Punk

RAW was good this week also, but SD inched it by a bit. I think that some of the problems with RAW as opposed to SD is that we have the same people over and over again on RAW. If they were to send guys like Michaels, Edge, and a few others to SD and then send some guys from SD to RAW it would really help. Plus all the focus on storylines on RAW is kinda annoying when their stupid storylines.

Overall solid show and can't wait till next week.

Rumble? What the hell is a Rumble? You mean the Romble Ramble, right?

Smackdown was great as usual. Right now, they just can't seem to do anything wrong.

The main difference between Raw and Smackdown is that Smackdown let's the stories be told inside the ring. On Raw, you're guaranteed a 20 minute promo to open the show, and usually another 20 minute promo halfway through the show...plus cuts to the back before and after every match.

It's funny how some weeks Raw can struggle to put together four matches for 2+ hours, yet SD always guarantees at least six quality matches(one of which normally runs around twenty minutes). Kennedy v. Benoit a couple weeks ago was a PPV quality match(and a damn good one at that).

Another big difference is that SD actually takes the time to develop it's low and midcarders, so they actually mean something. Whereas on Raw, the low and midcarders are normally just fed to either DX or Cena, and look really weak.

You would never see a midcarder like Gregory Helms mount any offense against Cena on Raw, but on SD! they made Helms look strong in defeat.

Anyways, I'll get off my soapbox on how much talent they're wasting away weekly on Raw lol...

    Smackdown thoughts:

Helms-Batista was good. No classic or anything, but it was nice to see Helms face a main eventer and look strong.

Miz-Benoit was solid. Benoit carried it, but Miz didn't look too bad. Give him a few months though and he'll either be another Scotty 2 Hotty or searching for another job.

I like Duece and Domino. When they debuted, they seemed like they were stuck with another corny and lame gimmick, but they're playing it well with humor. Hopefully they're holding back their move set until they get real competition though, so far their move set has been less-than-impressive.

Finlay-Booker was solid. Hopefully this isn't the start of them actually turning Finlay face...I've heard rumors of it. He's a great heel, keep him that way.

Koslov needs to stay in his current role. As a 45 second interview saying stuff like "Romble Ramble," the guy's hilarious.

MNM v. Londrick/Ashley was a good match. I don't like them putting MNM over though unless they plan on having them fued with Londrick. If I recall right, MNM never did get a rematch after losing the titles...that could make for good fued going into Mania(hell, throw in the Hardyz and bring back the days of the old three way tag team TLC match).

Kennedy's the man. I wish he'd win tonight, although I know he won't. Assuming he doesn't get hurt, he should be champ by the end of the year.

Kane-MVP was okay, I liked MVP attempting to set Kane on fire for revenge. I actually like MVP alot. He's got a ways to go, but for some reason he looks like a star-in-the-making to me.

I didn't like the battle royal. Undertaker cleaning house seemed stupid to me. They should have just given him Miz's spot if they wanted him to look dominant going into the Romble Ramble.

Great show. Not as good as last week's, IMO, but still the best wrestling show on TV...

Smackdown always has the best matches...too bad i have to watch on the internet. But Fridays Smackdown was good Duece N Domino are a good tag team and OUCH that was a sick finisher!. I also would like to see Mr. Kennedy win the title even if they have him lose it before WM.
