IMHO: WM 22 was great.. don't see WM 23 topping it.. thoughts?
Yesterday I deceided to rewatch WM 22.. I gotta say I thought it was one of the best WM ever when I first saw it and still do.. I don't see how WM 23 can come close from what we know currently... IMHO WM 22 had 5 great entertaining matches (OrtonvsAnglevsMysterio/Foleyvs Edge hardcore)/ McMahonvsMichaels/ CenavsHHH(I loved the entrances/hype)/ and MITB).. plus Taker vs Henry was pretty good..I thought 22 had just about everything you could want in a WM.... This years card so far imho just can't compare, though MITB looks like it will be really good probably best match this year and CenavsMichaels could be good..but I'd rather see HHH over Batista/ Angle and Mysterio over Lashley and Umaga(I could care less who gets shaved/think it's a stupid gimmick/storyline/) plus who cares about the Kane vs Kali match.. not too mention no Foley this year. Anyone agree/disagree?Tags: None -

I was thinking the same thing the other day. Last year's Wrestlemania was the final straw that really got me back into wrestling. This year's card just doesn't seem to have "it."
Last year the only throwaway match was the pillow fight. Foley-Edge was match of the night(and arguably, match of the year). MITB was awesome. With the exception of the weak finish, Mickie-Trish was the best women's match I've seen in the E. The McMahon ***kicking was fun to watch. And the crowd made Cena-HHH amazing.
This year, the only matches that I'm really looking forward to is MITB and Cena-HBK. The rest of the card just seems really blah. The only thing keeping me from passing up not buying it is the hope that Edge will win MITB and cash in later in the night...
Oh well, hopefully we're wrong...Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

I'm looking forward to Wrestlemania no matter who's on the card. The best WM in recent memory (maybe of all time) was Wrestlemania XVII.
THAT was a spectacle.Comment

Growing up as kid my favorite WM was IV due to the Tournament + the undercard was good. Plus at the time, a 4hr PPV was unheard of. WM V was also up there for me as I really liked the whole Hogan/Savage feud.
I currently have a few favorite WrestleMania's, but one that inches the rest is WrestleMania XIX.
Matches:
-Lesnar vs. Angle
-Hogan vs. McMahon
-Michaels vs. Jericho
-Austin vs. Rock
-H vs. Booker
-Team Angle vs. Los Guerreros vs. Benoit/Rhino
The rest of the undercard was just ok.Comment

I thought it was funny as hell when Bobby Heenan said that it would take The Iron Sheik a few days or hours to get down to the ring since it was taking him forever to walk down there. LOL!Comment

Re: IMHO: WM 22 was great.. don't see WM 23 topping it.. thoughts?
I'll still watch WM this year (always do) but I'm not expecting too much, card seems like that of a summersalm not WM.. the bigger crowd should be a plus though..WM should always be in a big arena (50-70,000) imho..would love for them to go back to toronto soon (always a great crowd) plus i'm canadian
My take on the card so far:
MITB- Best match on the card (probably MOTY canidate)
Cena vs Michaels-should be great..Michaels is always A+ in WM
Batista vs Taker- alot of hype..may surprise but not expecting a 5 star match..Batista's in ring work needs alot of work (atleast Cena is entertaining)..plus Batista is 41 or 42, not much hope for great improvment.
Battle of the Billionaires- Hopefully Austin will clean house (if Trump gets stunned that would be classic..but won't happen) otherwise I could care less about this match.. no way trump gets shaved
Kane vs Kali- who cares
ECW original vs new breed- again who cares.. I'm not a (WWE version) ECW fan..new breed guys don't belong near a WWE PPV yet
Ashley vs Melina- Melina has potential and ashley is hot as hell (be can she wrestle???)... neither are in the league of Lita/Trish/M.James or even Victoria.. would rather have seen Melina vs M.James (rumor has it they dislike each other backstage)
After watching SD I hope a MVP vs Beniot match isn't added to the card..Beniot is great but MVP is still very unproven..
I hope that MNM/London and Kendrick/ other team(s) are added in a Tag tile ladder match or better yet a TLC match like the classic EC/Hardys/Dudleys matches..
To me WM should be about the best of the best.. not unproven/raw rookiesLast edited by NJL; 03-10-2007, 12:34 PM.Comment

Not according to many sites.. DOB Jan 18, 1966- makes him 41.
Here's some info on him that was posted in 05
REAL NAME: Dave Bautista
BORN: January 18, 1966 in Washington, D.C.
6' 6", 325 pounds
Dave has two children (daughters) from a previous marriage ages 12 and 14. He also has a 19yr old stepdaughter.
ALIASES/NICKNAMES: Kahn, Leviathan, Demon of the Deep, Deacon Batista
WWE Debut: May 2002 as Deacon Batista, was the bodyguard to D-Von Dudley who was working with the Reverend D-Von in a storyline. Batista remained with D-Voni in 2002, then turning against the Reverend.
The break from Dudley meant his departure from Smackdown.
Ive just been confirmed that Batista's real birthdate is January 18, 1966 (NOT 1969)
When Batista resigned with the WWE this past January, it was revealed that he had been working under a fake age (a common practice in the entertainment field where age can hurt you). When he resigned he admitted that he was actually 39 years old.

Re: IMHO: WM 22 was great.. don't see WM 23 topping it.. thoughts?
Last year's Mania was excellent. Edge/Foley and Triple H/Cena (the real MOTN) were two of the best matches of '06. There was nothing bad on the card...well, except the pillow fight match. But hey, I had to smoke a "cigarette" sometime during the show, right?
Huge markout moments for me with RVD winning the MITB match and Rey Mysterio winning the World Title. Man, RVD won, I went nuts. I jumped off my couch and slid across my floor towards my TV. I have no idea what came over me.
The builds were awesome and the show delivered.
This year, I think the card delivers again. HBK/Cena will be excellent and Batista/Taker will be a spectacle.
As far as the best WM, I really can't say. I've been to three of them - I, X and XX. XX is the best one I've attended.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment
