Makes a ton of sense. You rarely see two guys in a tag team go into the main event. They break up, then go to the main event. See Shawn Michaels. See Bradshaw. See Edge. See Jeff Hardy. None of that happened while they were in a tag team.

I understand that, but killing your best heel tag team when you are trying to rebuild the tag team division is a stupid move.

I'm sure I would get over it, though.

I'm sure they're not doing it anytime soon though. And tag teams (and the tag team division) are almost always used to groom guys who you think have potential for singles stardom.

So I'm just spitballing here. I don't remember if it was this thread or elsewhere, but I read that Taker was in pretty rough shape.

I think that the streak should be broken, yet-not broken. I'm thinking of something like this. Take someone like Ryback (note: just using him. It should be a talent with a long future in the business that can use the rub.)

Have the match go on last. 5-10 minutes in after a brawl, they get Taker up for the finisher and hit it (or just hit some other high impact move.) It's looking like a loss for Taker.

The lights go off, absolutely pitch black. All of a sudden, a bolt of lightning comes and hits the ring (right where Taker is/was.)

The lights come back on as all you see in the ring is the opponent and a puff of smoke where Taker was. Cue bewilderment and chaos as WM goes off air.

In my opinion, that would be a terrible idea. It wouldn't make much sense, seeing as 'Taker has always been the fighter guy and hates that he looked weak (storyline wise in End of an Era match.) Why would he basically quit the match, since it would go against his character? Let alone that would be a bad ending to WrestleMania.

I'd prefer that Taker just never wrestle again, since that fantastic match against HHH at this past year's Wrestlemania was a great place for him to go out.

But if he must, that lightning idea thing shouldn't happen. Makes him look like a coward, and that's not how he deserves to go out.

I just don't see anyone I'd be ok with Taker losing to if he didn't lose to HHH/HBK, there was a level of respect that was shown in/after their matches that I think would have to be shown if he was to lose. The only person I think that could pull that off properly would possibly be Cena and maybe Punk(but his character right now maybe wouldn't allow it)

That'd also have to be a countout or in case of no DQ/no countout match a forefit.

Horrible idea for someone that isn't on TV for 9+ months out of the year. If this was 10-15 years ago and he was going to return soon after, sure. But now? No.

I'd be ok w/ Kane doing it. Have him turn back into the monster heel. Even bring Paul back for it. Not for Kane himself, I think it'd make a good story since that's why Kane came to WWF.

I won't be ok with that. I be disappointed if they let the "big soft hug it out machine" win. I'm sorry to me wwe kill Kane character. Even if he change back it will never look right to me again. Wwe just need to leave the record at 20-0 end of a era period.

They just can't break the streak. They built it up way too far to have anybody tear it down at this point.

I like the idea of Taker winning the title in his last match, then the lights go out and in the ring lies an urn, his hat and the now vacated title.
