Rumble + etc. news.
- WWE originally had planned to do a multi-man match on the Royal Rumble pre-show that would have featured both main roster Superstars and wrestlers from NXT. They made the decision to put The Miz vs. Antonio Cesaro on the pre-show and create the NXT tournament for the Rumble Fan Fest. No word yet on who is penciled in to win the tournament and earn a spot in the Rumble match but Leo Kruger and Bo Dallas seem to be the favorites.
- Sin Cara noted on Twitter that he is in Phoenix, Arizona for the Royal Rumble. No word yet on Rey Mysterio's status.
- New WWE NXT talent Clayton Jack is on Twitter at @Cletus_Tahoe. Cletus Tahoe is apparently his new ring name.
- Alberto Del Rio's brother Memo Montenegro has been impressing WWE NXT officials with the way he is improving.
- Speaking of the 30-man Rumble match, WWE has the confirmed list to 17 names now. The winner of the NXT tournament will make 18 confirmed entrants:
* NXT tournament winner
* Dolph Ziggler (either #1 or #2)
* John Cena
* Sheamus
* Randy Orton
* Ryback
* The Miz
* Wade Barrett
* Antonio Cesaro
* Kane
* Daniel Bryan
* Kofi Kingston

- F4Wonline.com reports that a WWE Divas Title match with Tamina Snuka vs. Kaitlyn is expected to be added to Sunday's Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

It was a tournament, not a battle royal, and it was yesterday so your chances of seeing it are slim now unless someone puts up a camera phone video. WWE has photos if you'd like to take a look...Comment

Is Striker in the Rumble?- Matt Striker tweeted two cryptic messages on Sunday evening, with less than two hours to go until the Royal Rumble.
"I just saw 2 surprise entrants in tonight's Royal Rumble arrive at the bldng. One had a present for me Remember the Rumble is open to ANYONE"
"I love how the Internet THINKS it knows whose in the bldng ? Lets just say the " present" will be put to great use tonite."Comment

Post-Rumble notes:
- Shelton Benjamin and Carlito did not return in the Rumble match, despite previous reports. PWInsider reports that the two ended up being booked at the same hotel WWE used because they were in town for an indy show.
- Surprise entrants besides Chris Jericho in the 2013 Royal Rumble match were Goldust and The Godfather. Santino Marella also returned from injury in the match.
- Regarding The Godfather, he quietly drove from Las Vegas to Phoenix to hide from fans staked out at the airports. Godfather arrived Sunday afternoon and checked into the WWE hotel before going to the arena.
- Ted DiBiase was backstage at the Rumble and should be returning from a hand injury soon.
- Chris Jericho was hidden in a bus outside until his entrance. Word backstage was that a deal was quietly made for him to work the show when WWE reached out to him for RAW. No word yet on his future with the company.
- Mark Henry was also backstage. WWE had plans in place for him to return but that didn't happen.Comment

I hope the Godfather got paid well for that drive to Phoenix. Great to see him, but such a waste for him too to damn near beat that ~2 second record.Comment

OLE! Generico's coming to nXt. I'm pumped to see him after watching some of his Final Battle stuff with Steen and their storyline.
- Over the next month a number of independent talent will visit NXT in Florida to be evaluated for a potential WWE deal.
^ I remember reading it would be the Briscoes, Sami Callihan, and ROH TV Champ Adam Cole.
- Wade Barrett noted on Twitter that his Intercontinental Cup announcement has been delayed due to travel issues he's having at the airport. Barrett is promising that it's a huge announcement.
- PWInsider reports that El Generico has passed his medical testing and officially signed with WWE. He will be reporting to NXT some time next month.
- The planned Intercontinental Cup which was to be taped on WWE Main Event episodes has been canceled according to Wade Barrett.
"I am pleased to announce that I have managed to negotiate a complete cancellation of the #IntercontinentalCup tournament", Barrett wrote on Twitter just moments ago.
- There was talk at Monday's RAW that one of the reasons The Undertaker didn't make an appearance at the Royal Rumble is because he's not so sure that he will work WrestleMania 29 now.
The plan had been for Taker to wrestle CM Punk but WWE officials are still waiting on Taker's decision. There's a feeling among some within WWE that Taker will end up wrestling but the discussion at RAW was they may have to come up with another WrestleMania storyline for Punk.Comment
