I think it's more about people who followed WWF and WCW before the Monday Night Wars getting to see two of the classic mega-draws from that period finally getting to hook up for the first time. There aren't very many unique matchups remaining for either of them (seeing as how they've both been at it for a over 25 years) so seeing legend against legend is a hell of a thing, especially for people 30-40 years old who grew up with them.

100% on the dot. Even at there ages, the matchup would draw lots of hype and would increase the PPV for that WM. I mean, Brock vs Taker....It was done back in 2004. Taker would not job to Brock lesnar and eervyone would already know the outcome. Now Sting vs Taker. Would leave the door open for a possible streak enderatleast..Its not DelawareComment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Not sure how he looks now but Sting still looked pretty good the last time I saw him (granted this was 3 or 4 years ago). And of course he was great in the WCW...even carrying alot of his matches in the later days of the company.
I would love to see a Sting/HBK match too. As long as it's not a main feud and not taking away from the storylines of current stars then I don't necessarily see what the issue is."Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

For what it’s worth, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter speculates that Batista is returning to win the 2014 Royal Rumble match and face Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania XXX.
UGHHHHHH.. Really?? Comes back at Rumble and Gets a title shot right off the bat? So, that would put HBK VS Bryan and HHH VS Punk right?atleast..Its not DelawareComment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I feel bad for Sheamus. Batista is gonna take his HHH's best friend gimmick away.
And on the Sting thing, I can see the "remember how awesome these two were 15 years ago" angle but it just doesnt excite me since Sting hasn't excited me in over a decade. On top of that, I may be biased, Im kinda over the Taker wins at Mania formula. Sting wouldn't be brought in to end the streak, lets not kid ourselves.Last edited by kingkilla56; 12-23-2013, 01:02 PM.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Right so back on a partime basis like I said. You don't see Cena,Orton,Punk,Bryan and others only wrestle for 3-4 months out of a year.Comment

That's not a Vince ego thing, it makes zero sense for a guy in his 50s who has never wrestled in the company before to end the streak.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
So with everyone talking about Taker and the streak...Who should end it???
If it were to be someone in the company,...Would people like to see Cena end it? Does the streak have to end or should it only end when Taker retires?atleast..Its not DelawareComment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Obviously every single match is pre determined, but I've never cared too much about it because of that because well really what does a streak mean in the WWE
It is a cool part of WWE history though and has produced some great matchesSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
If they're going to end it (which I doubt at this point) it needs to be a young guy that it would really take to the next level, I'm not the biggest Roman Reigns fan (I don't dislike him but I think hes the weakest member of The Shield but he has the look WWE likes) but if the WWE is serious about pushing him to be their next mega star that's the kind of guy you have end the streak.
I have a feeling Reigns will end up a face for his push though and I think a heel should end the streak so I'd say Ambrose as that would cement him as a top heel, like I said though I don't think the streak ends at this point.Last edited by IlliniM1ke; 12-23-2013, 03:50 PM.Favorite Teams:
