Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Have the admins ever thought of an entire Dirt/Spoiler sub forum? I agree that making individual threads in the main forum to discuss dirt defeats the purpose of keeping it concealed in this thread, but at the same time I get irritated seeing the thread bolded only to find its not new dirt.
A sub forum would completely fix the "problem" (if you really want to consider it a problem).Last edited by almostbobsaget; 08-09-2014, 09:56 PM.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Like others have said, if you want just the 'dirt', no problem in just going to the source itself. Usually links get provided.
I actually enjoyed reading these last few posts going back and forth discussing the Del Rio situation, and the other discussions that come out of the reports that get posted. Plus, there's added insight to what gets posted from some knowledgeable guys around here, because sometimes the link doesn't give enough background.
Isn't that the point of a discussion board? To discuss the topics that have been posted?

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I don't see the reason for creating a new thread for every news story when we post it in this thread and talk about it. No TOS have been violated we keep the discussion cival. Why change it now?Last edited by Cubfan; 08-10-2014, 02:52 AM.MLB: Chicago Cubs

Where's the line between discussion and getting off-topic? One page of talk? Two?Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Welcome to the OS WWE Dirt Thread. This thread is created and stickied so that you, the OS wrestling fan, can discuss the information provided by 'Dirt Sheets'. This is the only place that you may discuss information from the 'Dirt Sheets', so please do not post rumors on other parts of the WWE forum.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Creating separate threads is so inconsistent with the way the rest of the forums work. If you try to create a topic about any signing in the NBA forum, it automatically gets locked and told to discuss in the off-season thread. I always thought that was a silly rule, you have a forum to discuss said sport related events, but everything gets designated to one thread? So I'm actually in favor of separate threads for separate discussions, but the fact that it's for dirt and can contain spoilers makes it kind of tricky.Have the admins ever thought of an entire Dirt/Spoiler sub forum? I agree that making individual threads in the main forum to discuss dirt defeats the purpose of keeping it concealed in this thread, but at the same time I get irritated seeing the thread bolded only to find its not new dirt.

Well, we've all seen the way the dirt thread gets off onto off-topic tangents sometimes, so I can see that being an issue. On the other hand, I think it's logical to expect some discussion of the dirt when creating a thread seems overkill since there's always new dirt and much of this stuff drops off after a day or so.
Where's the line between discussion and getting off-topic? One page of talk? Two?
My solution is that if it becomes a discussion, move it to it's own topic with (DIRT) at the end of the title. Because frankly it's becoming disappointing even for me to click the Dirt thread link and have people arguing about inane things that have already been beat like a dead horse.
Suggestions welcome.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I think that'd be a lot of unnecessary clutter.
If we're insistent about having the discussion being in another thread, why not just stick a "OS WWE Dirt Discussion" thread? That way if you want the news, stick to this thread. If you want to post news and discuss it, be in that thread?
It may kill some of this thread, but it will A) Be clearly marked as discussion. B) Not cause unnecessary clutter with random dead threads. C) Should make all parties happy. In my uneducated opinion.badComment
