Re: ***Lockdown - 4/16/07 Discussion Thread***
What a great show!!!! JJ is the man. Looks like Angle is mad Jarrett didn't help him score the pin. Sting deserves redemption for what Cage did to him last year. Hopefully Sting wins and passes the torch at Slammiversary to Joe.Highheat's O's Franchise

I am speechless, because now I have no idea where TNA goes from here outside of like HH saying that Sting passes the torch to Joe at Slammiversary. Also was tonight a coming of age for Double J by his actions is he trying to say he has really changed and he's not going to step on anyones toes like he did before? The DuCross Brothers: Sports Internet Talk Show

Re: ***Lockdown - 4/16/07 Discussion Thread***
Heat, I will disagree with you here for one thing. As much as I want to see Sting win the title next month and lost it to Joe at Slammiversary............TNA just put themselves in a corner again. If Sting wins the title next month only to lose it to Joe in a month later, that is just as stupid as his last reign that he lost to Abyss. Sting should not be just a transitional champion 2 times in a row.

But see it goes right back to Candyman saying TNA is backed into the corner, because I don't think you can have Sting in a match for the World Title without him winning it and with that said you can not make Sting a transitional Champion, so now you go back to what TooTall said is that Joe should win it at Bound For Glory.

Holding up the title would make no sense since there wasn't any controversy around the World Title. Plus with so many great main eventers right now, it would not make any sense to hold it up.
Heat, yes, this was one of the better TNA PPV's. Only match that brought it down was the blindfold match.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 04-16-2007, 03:20 PM.Comment

Hmm... I don't have this yet (not up for download for a little while yet) and all I could grab is the pre-show.
Why does BG James hold up the "X" like HBK does, and why is he giving crotch chops after the match? lol.badComment

Re: ***Lockdown - 4/16/07 Discussion Thread***
The show was good. Letting the Lethal Lockdown spill outside was a good call. It was a good match and didn't feel like a cluster****. Smart booking, but Sting winning is kinda blah.
Daniels/Lynn was very good, probably my favorite match of the night. The Escape was suprisingly good. It was the best multi man match TNA has put together in a looong time. I was loving the Shelley/Sabin double teams. ROH fans in Chicago are lucky to see them team up again in two weeks.
I was dissappointed in the Electrified Cage Match. It wasn't one of their better matches and the lights flickering was just silly. I was happy that the PPV didn't have a bunch of the over the top stipulations (aside from the Blindfold Match, which was horrible by default) but then they did that. It would have been forgivable if the match lived up to my expectations.
I had some mark out moments, too. Crazy Angle cursing at Cornette, Hector Guererro helping 3D and Ray telling him to "get the ****ing tables", Raven trying to cane Hemme. Heck, I even marked out when Petey Williams got the hockey stick.
EDIT: I forgot to mention the Low-Ki/Arie...erm, Senshi/Starr match. I loved it until the finish. This Bob Backlund stuff is played out already.Last edited by JiggidyJames; 04-16-2007, 04:18 PM.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

I just wanted to chime in and say, why the heck can't Sting lose whenever his title shot is? The Rock has a career record of well below 50% in title matches... didn't seem to hurt his career too much, and I don't see why it would hurt Sting's either.http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: ***Lockdown - 4/16/07 Discussion Thread***
TNA mgmt could have done something right last night and that is having the winner of this match since it is of great importance wins the NWA World Championship title shot at SLAMMIVERSARY. This way Jeff Jarrett could have passed the torch to Samoa Joe instead of Sting.......Why would they do that? There is no reason that Sting needed to win this match as a #1 Contender. TNA booking has bricks in their heads. I like Sting, but not like this. Why did they do this again? SO JEFF JARRETT CAN GAIN THE FANS BY HIS SIDE FOR ALLOWING STING TO GET THE TITLE SHOT. That is pathetic way to get someone over at the risk of your company.
TNA/Jarrett kinda reminds me of the USWA of the 90's. I enjoyed Jerry Lawler wrestling, but the man must have won the USWA Heavyweight Title 20+ times at his companies expense.
I think that all of this was done to help get Jarrett over as a fan favorite.Comment
