Re: I think I'm done for a while...
Right after the Invasion started I stopped watching WWF. I would watch a SmackDown and Raw here and there with some PPVs thrown in, but I didn't come back for good until '04. But while I wasn't watching WWF/E, I was watching everything else I could. I guess that's because I'm actaually a WRESTLING FAN.
Personally I feel that WWE is the strongest it's been since the peak of the Attitude Era and the in-ring is arguably better all around than ever. It's a great time to be a wrestling fan with the WWE on an upswing, ROH putting on good shows and TNA on TV. Three major league promotions and a boatload of talent, young and old. Watching the next generation of stars come up right now (which started in '02), I feel great about what's going on. It's only gonna get better.
The only thing missing is the violence of ECW. I'm not talking about the garbage brawls, either. Malenko and Eddie could go out there and work a technical masterpiece and there was still something violent about. I don't think that'll ever be captured again.Comment

Are you really suprised you were met with that response considering that this is a WRESTLING forum?
Anyway gents, enjoy your wrestling.Comment

Before you ask, I have no wrestling experience, but I do have an immense amount of respect for those guys and girls. You bring up Owen Hart without even knowing about it? Oh and predetermined anger, that was hilarious. And I will enjoy my wrestling regardless of what ignorant people like you might say. I'm sorry, but like Superstar, when someone calls wrestling fake it pissed me off.NBA: New York Knicks

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
Why would you come into a wrestling forum and insult the product and the fans? What kind of response did you honestly think you were going to get. Do you think people would give an answer with your ignorant question. Would you ever take a chair shot to the head? Slammed through a table? Have to cut yourself before the match to make sure that during your match you bleed? These guys and girls go out there every night and put on the best show possible. Shawn Michaels' has needed surgery on his knee for months but he stuck it out for the fans.

Time to move on. Later.Comment

I apologize. I just get pissed when someone says wrestling is fake. Yes, Owen died. It's terrible even thinking about it. I just think there was no point of you coming into a wrestling forum, call it fake, and bring up Owen. That's all I'm saying.NBA: New York Knicks

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
I have not watched a WWE product I think it almost a yr and I have not watched TNA Impact in like 2 months...yet I have gotten all the PPVs outside of the last one. So, my fate with wrestling in general is going down...because there is just nothing that peaks interest right now.The DuCross Brothers: Sports Internet Talk Show

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
I remember being "done" in the early 90s. Cartoon-land WWF made me sick (and I was only about 13 or 14 at the time). COMPLETELY ignored wrestling for a few years.
Then . . . when I came home drunk one night from another high school party in the fall of 1994 . . . I turned on the TV at 2 am (MSG Network) to watch a guy brutally cane the hell out of some skinny little dude that barely looked a day over 18, and then plaster Marty Janetty in the head and then about 25 times on the back when Janetty came to help. My jaw dropped at the realistic brutality and the heel getting over that huge. AWESOME! But I was too drunk to search it out and get into it the next morning . . . and the internet was really not readily available back then (almost no one had it, and I don't think I even knew that it existed).
I don't think I watched ECW sober until at least a year later, but I was hooked when I figured out exactly what the hell I was watching was. Became an insane "ECW Mutant," taped nearly every show I could, and attended more ECW events that I can remember. Notable shows: Living Dangerously 99, LD 00 (is New Jack dead?), Massacre on 34th Street and a few other big Hammerstein shows, Sabu breaks a beer bottle over Sandman's head after jumping off a stage in Waltham, MA, Japanese 6-man match in Revere, MA that topped the match that happened later at Barely Legal (Sandman also hangs from ceiling to drop a huge leg on Dvon during same show), Dudleys leave ECW at Madhouse, Last Madhouse show, and ONS 06.
Was "done" again after the terrible Invasion angle ended, in depression re: ECW being dead and WWF botching the remake. Got pulled back in when One Night Stand 05 was announced. Possibly the best wrestling PPV ever, if you were an ECW fan. Couldn't attend it live because I was recovering from major knee surgery, and couldn't walk. Was "done" with WWE again 1 or 2 months after ONS 05. Tried to watch TNA when the Dudleys jumped, but I found it to be terrible. "Done" again.
Came back for the build up for ONS 06, attended ONS 06, and watched every ECW show through the D2D build. Ordered D2D and nealry puked. Been watching "ECW" sporadically since, and about to be "done" once again.
However, if RVD and Sabu start tagging in TNA, I think I may finally be able to tolerate the worst announcing tandom in wrestling history . . .Been gaming since the Atari 2600, and hells no I won't stop!!!Comment

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
I guess it's just me, but for some reason I can't stand those guys. In my insane mind, TNA would go up 0.5 in the ratings per week just by canning the duo!!Been gaming since the Atari 2600, and hells no I won't stop!!!Comment

Re: I think I'm done for a while...
I'm sure that it has been mentioned before but watch some more indy promotions if you can. PWG, ROH, IWA, CHIKARA, FIP, early TNA, and even CZW (some of it at least) is pretty entertaining and feature more wrestling. You get a chance to see new wrestlers you haven't before.
Triple X in TNA ftw.
In anycase, do what needs to be doneComment
