Austin Starr Receives is Released :(

I didn't know where to place this, if it should go in the dirt thread or if it could stay on here.

TNA never announces releases on their site, but with Aries appearing at a ROH show must mean that he is gone from TNA. He wasn't allowed to appear or compete for ROH.

I was contemplating going to this show as Chicago Ridge is only 10 minutes away, now I wish I would have went.

    ------------------------------------------------------

If you haven't read a report from last night's Ring of Honor PPV Taping in Chicago Ridge, IL, Austin Aries (Austin Starr in TNA) appeared after the first match and announced that he was returning to ROH full-time. Aries presented a paper to the crowd that he said would make him "free" from his current deal with TNA Wrestling.

For those who remember, Aries was suspended by TNA shortly after the company's Lockdown PPV this past April in St. Louis, MI. There had been numerous reports stating that he was trying to get out his TNA deal after the suspension, which was right around the time Ring of Honor announced plans to debut on Pay Per View. As a result, TNA pulled all contracted talent from ROH with Aries and Homicide being the only two remaining.

Starr/Aries was granted his TNA release last week.

Yeah, that sucks. At least Austin will enjoy himself now, he fits in better in ROH and doing what he does best and that's wrestle.

I will miss him in TNA, I enjoyed Aries/Starr and he was a total badass for an "X" star. Better that he is happy than be miserable.

Thank god. TNA wasn't using him right, and ended up giving his new gimmick to Lethal as well.

Aries is one of my ROH favorites, and with a somewhat depleted roster after the recent TNA purge, they could use him.

After reading the results last night, I'm really pissed I couldn't go to the show last night. Didn't have any transportation to get there

I hope that the ROH PPV's are cheap, I'll order them for sure.

I still think the Austin Starr gimmick was more of a combination of Randy Savage, Superstar Billy Graham, and Jesse "The Body" Ventura personas. I didn't mind his gimmick at all and I liked his theme music a lot.

They're only going to be $9.95.

IMO anyone who is always *****ing and moaning about what WWE/TNA is producing and hasn't yet given ROH a shot should order this PPV, otherwise they have no reason to complain. It's cheap, and it's probably the closest thing to a true alternative to the E as we're going to see for quite awhile.

I think it's good for Aries and TNA.

Their relationship clearly wasn't working out... and with the X Division being what it is, there just wasn't room for Starr.

He needed to do his own thing in ROH and TNA needs to thin the division so like I said... win/win for both.

Very nice. I think I'll be ordering their first show in July, most likely over Victory Road.

Why did he sign with tna in the first place?

He signed with TNA back when TNA still let their guys wrestle for indy promotions, TNA pulled the plug on that after ROH announced their first PPV.
