    Congress Asks WWE for Documentation...

If you guys haven't caught this yet.
Congress is asking for records on steroids, drugs, etc from the WWE Wellness program. ESPN.com reported it.

    The article.
    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/print...586&type=story

Then ESPN.com has a PDF file of what Congress is asking for.

WWE is complying with the requests.

This whole steroid and drug thing could blow up again.

I hope not either Prime Altimus Time.

How ever it does seem like they left the door wide open for investigations again.
This time it's going to be a lot tougher for Vince. He won't be charged, but he'll be forced to do something.

This could end up being incredibly bad for the industry.

They'll just yell at Vince and wag their fingers for four hours.

Randy Orton doesn't look like he's on the juice as much as Cena does. Randy Orton will win and feud with Shawn Michaels, because he's a small guy.

Seriously, last time the steroids thing happened it wasn't a huge deal, it was the pushing of HBK and Bret Hart.

With the horrible image Benoit ended up with, I don't think they'll be too hard on Vince/ the industry.

Not a huge deal? It was by far the lowest point in company history.

And look what happened not too long after it, The Attitude Era

WWE is in a good spot, and since they are cooperating with it, I don't see anything major coming of this. Maybe some fines, something, but I don't think wrestling on the whole will make a huge change. It's not like they are a small company that is hurting financially, but you know all this.

That's a bit of stretch. Yeah, they were getting their *** kicked in large part due to the trial and needed something to break out, but from '93-'95, WWF not only sucked, they weren't making any money.

To live through that as a fan, it was brutal. Probably the worst time to be a wrestling fan. It wasn't like Vince's big man fetish stopped, either. He still pushed big guys, only difference was they were fat.

It might have turned out OK, but to say it wasn't a huge deal? It was the hugest deal in wrestling up to that point.

Hopefully it does affect WWE. It could do two things

                      1. It'll actually force WWE to enforce a real steroids policy and get some of these guys to actually, you know, stop killing themselves over time.

                      2. Let's not forget that when Vince was forced to go with smaller wrestlers the actual product was quite good. The era of HBK and Bret Hart produced some VERY good wrestling. It just coincided with a time when the actual business was slow.

Bastion Booger, Yokzuna, Man Mountain Rock, Duke Droese, the return of King Kong Bundy, and a lot of forgettably bad gimmicks involving large men. Need I go on?

From having lived thru the 93 steroid case, this actually seems a little more focused than it was then. This could potentially be a bit worse. As a wrestling fan i hope not, but it depends on what they charge him with.

Either you're agreeing with me, or readingcomprehension isn't your strong suit.

                          And you forgot Mable.

You guys are acting like they got huge roles. The only guy out of that list that had any real impact was Yoko and he may have been big but he was actually pretty intimidating his first couple or so years in the WWF. He didn't become a huge slob til near the end.

Yeah, I kinda overstated the fat guy thing, but there was a whole lot of naturally big guys on the roster at that time. Whether they were tall or fat, the only "midgets" to get pushes were Bret, Owen, Shawn and Sean Waltman. Everyone else was either tall (Taker, Nash, Hall) or fat (Yoko, Bam Bam, Mabel).

Vince's fetish never really died, he just went with a different look for the big guys. Most of them didn't stick becuase they weren't very good.
