Wow the crowd was hot for the Punk/Morrison match (if that was in fact the real crowd noise)

Punk is going to be a megastar and I don't think you're going to have to worry about him getting caught up in a steroid controversy either.

it was real crowd noise... all the reports said it was a huge reaction, plus if you looked at the crowd they were going crazy for the win.

Oh, I'm not doubting it. Just wouldn't put it past the E.

With that being said, I think this explodes Punk into superstardom in the E. Like RVD was supposed to, I think Punk now becomes the face of ECW for a year or two, then moves "up" to Raw or Smackdown (hopefully not the latter).

I have to say that I'm impressed with the title match... even though everyone knew what was going to happen, it was still an entertaining edge-of-your-seat affair. Kudos to both men for putting on a good show in the ring, especially Morrison, as he probably wasn't too happy about doing the job under the circumstances...

First time I turned into ECW in months, and I flipped on just in time to see Punk v. Morrison. I've never seen the Morrison gimmick before, and I have to admit that the highlight package of him had me laughing out loud. Great gimmick, IMO, and he should stick with it! Loved the slow-mo entrance - made me laugh again!

The match itself was HOT. I'm not sure I've seen an "ECW" crowd that hot for a match post-Hammerstein. Obviously, it's a credit to the workers to get a dumb crowd like that into the match as much as they were, so big time props to the both of them. Punk's reaction when winning was so well done that it gave me a feel-good smile, even when I knew that it was booked! Great job by all involved.

Dondadda, I know it's not saying much, but right now ECW is easily the best WWE show out there. Sure it's really basic and not a ton of stories, but by far it's the most consistent show they have running.

Morrison is great, too bad he screwed up with the drugs... but Punk vs. Morrison has been a fun feud since the beginning.

Glad the crowd was so into it. Like the reviewer on pwtorch said, that match reminds people of why they're wrestling fans... it actually made me mark like a kid again... and I knew what was going to happen!

                Wow what a match!

That was the best match yet between Punk and Morrison.......I would have prefered that this go to No Mercy for Punk to win the title, but under the circumstances it didn't give WWE much choice. Finally Punk achieves his destiny of winning a World Championship, hopefully he can stay healthy to carry the ECW banner.

It is a good thing that the crowd was in this match big time, it helped add to everything going on in the ring.

It's really hard to not feed off the passion that Punk shows.

He's just a genuine good guy that you likely will never have to worry about when he's not wrestling. With the increased scrutiny on all wrestlers nowadays, its time for guys like Punk to step into the limelight.

Its one of the reasons why I'm so behind Punk, he shows a passion for this business that others don't. Many say crap about him here on OS and think he can't wrestle, but the man has proven himself in his short WWE tenure.

He should have a good set of challengers on the way over the next few months..........Big Daddy V, Elijah Burke, Kevin Thorne, and a returning John Morrison.

Even though I knew it would happen, it's the moment that makes it. I had my brother over and we marked out the whole match.

From the Grand Ballroom to the Grand Stage!

btw, I think "ECW" was taped first this week, so that should account for the livlier crowd.

                          Source - Nielson Media Research

This week's edition of ECW on Sci Fi bounced back in the ratings doing a strong 1.6. This makes it the highest rated show on Sci Fi for the day. CM Punk winning the ECW championship is much credited for the spike.

I watched the show last night, I really enjoyed the main event. Very good match and it told the story between the two well. The pop at the end was nice too. Great to see Punk finally wear the gold. Hopefully he gets a good run with it.

The rest of the show was decent too. ECW is my favorite weekly wrestling TV show right now
