What do you think
about Mickey Rourke doing a stint in the WWE? He could do a storyline similar to his movie "The Wrestler". Where he is back in the lime light after so many years in the independent scene. Getting his last chance on top. (something like that) This could put some serious cash into WWE pocket if they jump on the opportunity.Tags: None -
Re: What do you think
No way. I've heard this before and it's a horrible idea for several reasons, but the biggest one is this: "The Wrestler" is a movie that exposes just how f'd up a lot of these guys are. Why would WWE, fighting an image problem as it is, throw that in people's faces?
Just to add, I find no fault at all in Vince, or Jeff Jarrett for that matter, not wanting to be associated with this movie. And if ROH really thinks they came off looking good, wow.
SpoilerIf that ending happened irl, there would be a ****storm.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

Re: What do you think
What problem's have WWE had of late? The only think I've heard about is just the steroids. I mean come on they have had incest, sex with old people, and dead people. The Wrestler would not bring bad publicity to the WWE because they had no part in his (Fictional) drug use and such in the movie. But they could use that as it was real and say, he cleaned up and is back on top.
I just like Mickey Rourke's look that was my main reason for him to do a stint.Comment

The steroids are only the tip of the iceburg. The deaths, the drug abuse, no health insurance, no pension, the way guys are kicked to the curb once their not useful anymore. It's not exactly WWE's fault, but they are the wrestling business and perception is reality. They have an image problem right now (because of the deaths) and showing how a wrestler's life can go even further downhill because of what's listed above isn't something they should be promoting.
Think of it like this: You go to the bunny ranch in Vegas. You're drinking, figuring out which whore you're going to pick and then the owner comes up to you and starts talking about all the girls that worked there that died from AIDS and ODs. "Tough business, this hoing. It takes a lot out of these girls", he tells you. I'd lose my ambition really quick.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

Re: What do you think
Other than wrestling being a "work" and the nfl being a "legit" in theory it would be kind of like bringing the playmakers guys in to form an nfl team. It would be taking something that shines light on all the bad parts of your sport and legitamizing it. Although, i'm sure if anyone could shine that turd into a diamond it would be Vince. But it would create way more negatives than any good it would do.Comment
