So no one else thinks its punishment for going to TNA? Or at least a dig at TNA saying one of your biggest stars is only good enough for our 3rd show?

Also, I really hope he turns heel early on, IMO he is a much better heel than face. His wiseass routine doesnt work as well as a face.

I don't think it is punishment, it is just the best the best place to put him for now. The Draft will be a week after Wrestlemania, I bet he leaves then.

No way. They just swicthed him and Matt Hardy. If there was going to "punishment", he wouldn't have been even in consideration for the Jeff Hardy feud.

I think the only punishment Christian is feeling is the punishment Vince gave the IWC by making the change from Christian to Matt Hardy due to the IWC all "knowing" Christian was the man behind the Jeff Hardy "accidents." This left Christian with no real direction upon returning, hence the random appearance on ECW.

I'm interested to see where they go with Christian. I figured he'd win the ECW title and hold it for a month or two before dropping it and being drafted to SD this Summer. But, now that we know the draft is in April, that won't work. Putting Christian on ECW just to put Swagger over before getting drafted off the show seems stupid and a bad way to redebut an uppermidcard guy.

Honestly, when I think about, I don't think bringing him back as a heel would've worked all that well. If I'm not mistaken, he was a face when he left. I wasn't watching wrestling at the time, but the clips I've seen of his last few promos seemed to be getting pretty good positive reaction. He was a face for the last year or so in TNA. And he's a returning guy, and they normally end up faces. Look at HHH when he came back from his 1st torn quad - the guy had been a heel for two years, and got cheered when he came back. And Orton with his recent return - it took a while til he stopped getting cheered and started getting boos again.

A heel turn down the road is probably in Christian's future, but I think bringing him back as a face makes sense. Plus, ECW desperatly needed a face of Christian's caliber. I mean, if Christian isn't on ECW, who does Thwagger face at Mania? Finlay? The Boogeyman? Ricky Ortiz?

I had been talking to GearsX8 about this a few months back. I told him that I had hoped it would be Matt Hardy. It made sense. Why? They had Matt blaming Edge the entire time to make it plausible. This way when it was him it was a bit of a shock.

It would have been great for it to have been Christian, but I really think that Matt Hardy was going to be the guy the entire time.

I read that it was going to be Christian, but since everyone on the internet was pretty much convinced it was him, they decided to go with Matt.
