Re: This is the way to fix the WWE

    You want to FIX WWE?

How about not having such confusing belts as the WWE Heaveyweight Championship belt and the WWE Heavyweight Championship belt.

Anyone with a belt needs to be on both shows.

The shows where better when you had Stone Cold, Triple H, & Rock beating the crap out of each other twice a week. It was better when the Rock had a large stable of thugs. It was better when you hated seeing the Stable come out and trample on one individual who you liked week after week. It was better when you had Steve Austin battling 5 people at once to keep his title. It was better when you didnt have women wrestling. It was better when it wasnt about a bunch of women with boobs prouncing around with the only talent they had.

Wrestling was better when the Von Erichs were around.

The ending of tonight's RAW was pathetic. I have no idea why I even bother anymore.

i was hoping they would change there minds and swerve everyone

and actually form a on the air version of THE CLIQ

using NASH HHH FLAIR HBK JERICHO.....and top it off with a REAL SURPRISE return of XPAC....

but that wouldnt work because XPAC is only 29.....

and most returning wrestlers need to be at least 38 or older for vince to want them

i dont mind HHH keeping the belt...

as booker trying to get past the cliq to win it for a few months could have been good stuff

                or say goldberg later........

and at some point randy orton could replace a member of the cliq if they turned face such as JERICHO

unfortunatly there going with the bright idea of NASH VS HHH for the next several months

wee i get to see a 44 year old nash win the title again........

he was the worse champion in the history of the wwe when you go by buy rates for PPV

                just plain dumb

not too mention there simply following all of wcw mistakes

like i said before they have the greatest roster in the history of wrestling the greatest production the greatest timeslots for shows the greatest workers are on there roster

they have ultimo dragon on the way in

                and sting after that......

they have guys for everyones taste

but they cant come up with compelling storylines or fresh ways to use tried and true ideas

vince needs to open his mind up and psuh the envelope a bit as he has when times were tough...and not just except the status qoue

                its a shame really

as they do have some good stuff in there........just not enough of it

why they had to demote paul heyman is beyond me

smackdown the last year or so was doing such a good job at times....its really not that complicated

                all that is needed is

longer matches....better storylines with pace and development........more attention on building stars....and most of all PUT IMPORTANCE ON TITLES........

It seems that the only time Vince ever makes change for the good is when the company is on the verge of bankruptcy or the competition is kicking his ***.

Since there is no competition it looks like we're gonna have to see WWE go so bad that they nearly go bankrupt before we see light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: This is the way to fix the WWE

The biggest problem with the WWF/WWE in the past few years is they 'blow their load' too quickly. Every angle/feud set up has been started at the beginning of the month, finished at the end of the month. With the exception of Angle/Lesnar, every match at Wrestlemania was set up within the month before Wresltemania actually happened. Now, when it comes to guys like The Rock, who is on a limited time basis in the WWE, we can accept that. But when you have full time wrestlers jumping from guy to guy month after month, it gets stale. No one really hates each other, they just have discontent for one month.

On the same line, what ever happened to holding up back storylines in the WWE? Fans are so confused nowadays as to where allegiances lie that they could care less who is teamed up, knowing there was a past history and that they will inevitably turn on each other again anyways. Example: The 6-man Raw main event for Backlash is Nash/HBK/Booker T vs. HHH/Flair/Jericho. At least they brought up the fact that last year, HBK was laying Booker T on his *** with Superkick's left and right. But what about Jericho and HHH? Two men that have hated each other (back stage and angle wise) from day one are all of the sudden best friends? Hey Chris, isn't that the guy that took the world title off of you about a year ago? Right...

Last thing that has changed wrestling for the worst in the past few years is the internet. Not ALL of the internet sites. But the plethora of crap everyone reads on the 'cheat sheets' is what is bringing our expectations of wrestling to where they should be. I read about Goldberg coming back the day before he came back. I am not a Goldberg fan, by any means, but I would have marked out for him coming back, had I not known. Internet sites spoil some events for us, and have made wrestling more of a circus than an entertainment. Think of it this way. Would you watch your favorite television show if you already knew the plot line for the next 4 weeks? No. So fans now are watching wrestling with an idea of what is going to happen. So why do they keep watching?

Hardcore fans watch it because they love the sport side (I am an independent wrestler, so I fall into this category). But the rest of the casual fan watches wrestling like someone watching a car accident. The want to see someone screw up and get hurt. Most people that knew Scott Steiner was going to blow in the ring watched him waiting for the screw up. At Royal Rumble, we saw him almost drop HHH from a Tiger Driver. He was winded 5 minutes in. Had we not known he was going to suck from the cheat sheets, we may have watched it as a casual fan and noticed.

Wrestling has no more casual fans. Everyone is an internet smart mark. If you can sell you product to someone who already knows what you are going to do week in and week out, then you have the answer for wrestling. Something tells me no one does, and that, my friends, is a sad thing to think of.

good post Millennium I agree with you on some points however about the Internet smart marks. Not EVERYONE is an internet smart mark. I've read that the I-net fans make up only 15% of the wrestling fanbase. The problem is the fact that these people are a VERY vocal minority. They spread the word with their knowledge like someone passing a hot potato so it does indeed look like there are many smarks out there.

Other than that your post was spot on. I do wish they'd cut down on the PPVs and go back to a 3-4 month storyline arc like they did in the 80s and most of the 90s.

Yeah, unfortunately being in the business causes me to be a 'smart mark' as well. I often find myself analyzing matches instead of enjoying them.

There are rumors floating about PPV's going back and forth from Smackdown to Raw month to month. This could be the best thing to happen to wrestling in years. Let's see if it happens.
