    AEW PPV Thread

Figured it would make sense having a single thread for all AEW PPVs.

First news coming out of All In, Adam Cole is injured (again) and the TNT title will be vacated.

Dustin vs Sammy vs Danny vs Fletcher for the title tonight.

Given it was Cole vs Fletcher, I see Fletcher winning this anyways.

Has anyone been injured as much as Adam Cole has? Seems like any time he has any sort of momentum he gets hurt. Though I don't remember him getting hurt much in NXT?

Haven't watched it yet but just saw it's a 6 HOUR PPV.

If their 4-5 hour PPVs weren't already overkill, I'd say a 6 hour show tops it.

For reference, the longest WWE show ever was WM35 at 5 hours and 19 minutes.

AEWs was about 5 hours and 56 or so minutes, so they more than blew that out of the water.

IF they want to copy WWE and do a 2 night summer show, maybe they do a 3 hour All In on Saturday and 3 hour All Out on Sunday? But that still doesn't feel like a full solution.

          Now watching All In.

That was a great opening video package. That video alone gave it a huge show feel.

I like the casino gauntlet more than the battle royal because even though they're all just variations of the royal rumble, I don't like the whole "hearts are up next, next is clubs". This one is more like the rumble with one by one entrants, but nobody gets eliminated. Speaking of entrants, Juice without a beard looks weird.

Adam Coles injury/health could be career ending!? At this point as much as he keeps coming back from injuries, maybe it's best to stop before it's too late.

Surprised Swerve/Ospreay won. Probably by design, but saying they couldn't challenge for the title for 1 year made it feel like it was set up for them to lose (and the 1 year expires when they have All In in London). I liked the Bucks as EVPs, it's the first time I've really cared about them, wonder what's next for them.

Cope is back! Cope/Christian vs FTR in Toronto will be special.

I know WWE is the bigger spectacle when it comes to presentation and all that, but AEW did a great job with this one. Omega had a great entrance too. It helps it's in a stadium, but you wouldn't know there was 25,000 fans or 50,000 with the way it came across.

I wouldn't be surprised if Renee doesn't watch most Mox matches. That spot with the fork was crazy.

What a main event! Everything you could think of happening happened and then some.

Finally finished watching AEW All In... maybe AEW All In should become a 2 night event. So they essentially took the Wrestlemania 40 ending, Bloodline Rules and did it the non-PG way only AEW could. Even Excalibur mentioned how it was a new era for AEW. Not mad or anything about it, just thought it was interesting that they did that.

Say what you will about their weekly shows but AEW always delivers when it comes to their PPVs. Nothing really to complain about, considering the Casino Gauntlet is their Money In The Bank, really surprised they didn't have MJF try to cash in but have Swerve stop him. Only result that surprised me was Ospreay/Swerve winning because I thought for sure they were losing given the timeline of All In next August.

Hangman's character development has been so well done, even Swerve's character as well. I feel like they may have Ospreay challenge Hangman at Forbidden Door in London but lose so that's part of the story of him winning next year at All In.

Sounds like Adam Cole was legitimately going to retire at All In, but had to be talked out of directly saying he retired before he came out.

Probably why on commentary they were like "hopefully this isn't goodbye, just see you later".

Concussions could easily end a career just like that, and especially for wrestling, that's something you don't want to mess with.

It could still be a Daniel Bryan moment where he first announced he'll be leaving but then next time you see him months later he's announcing he's retiring, but at least he'll give it some time.

For all the jokes about the Vince rumor of wanting Cole as Keith Lees manager, maybe he could become a manager? Or go the Nigel/Taz route and be a commentator?

Or if he's done from wrestling, he makes his gaming stuff his full time career (or rejoins UUDD?)

Copeland followed up on John Cena's tribute to him by doing a 5 Knuckle Shuffle and Attitude Adjustment. Damn it... now I'm going to need TK to let him be Edge for one more night and face Cena before he retires.

Eddie Kingston is back! Didn't realize he's been gone so long.

Guess I was wrong about the 3.5-4 hour time limit for the show. Going 5 hours with the first hour going up against WWE was an interesting choice when they easily could've started the show earlier than 3pm if they wanted it to go 5.

They did Danielson dirty with his announce chair. He looked at least a foot or more shorter than Excalibur and Tony sitting in that chair.

Statlander winning the title was obviously such a huge out of nowhere surprise. Don't think I've heard an audience be so surprised by a match result in quite some time.

Jurassic Express is back! Wasn't expecting that at all. Between this and the Acclaimed, it'll be nice to see these two teams back. Though I still think Jack as a heel was good. Only issue was how the whole CM Punk stuff derailed his entire career.

                  Darby setting Mox on fire!

Let them do a 1 night only trade.

Edge back to WWE for one more match vs Cena, and AEW gets the MCMG for a match vs the Young Bucks.

But if you were to tell me that John Cena would get one of the biggest chants of the entire night at an AEW show, I'd never believe you. I wonder if AEW is technically even allowed to mention him by name seeing how it is his real name (I know he's shown up on AEW screens before, but that was just a TNT/TBS banner ad for a show or movie he was in).
