I hope this is the year the SvR series blows up

With all the games making such huge improvements this year, I hope SmackDown vs Raw really makes a big jump this year too.

I used to get every wrestling game. I haven't bought a wrestling game in 2 years. They just haven't done anything to season mode to bring me back. I would like to see an updated season mode simular to what they had in Here Comes the Pain.

Only having a few wrestlers available for season. And being limited to only wrestling my own matches just makes it shallow to me.

Come on THQ!!!....Open up and expand that season (career) mode. Drama is the single biggest part of wrestling. Season mode MUST be tight.

I just want GM mode back...

I loved GM mode when it was introduced in 06.

Ok.....well in that case....I'd like to see GM mode where we can actually see the storylines played out. That would be something close to when the season mode was good in wrestling games.

And another thing.... I know they probably would say they're limited on what they can do with voice over and all. But you know what? I'd take text content back if it meant the season mode could be deep, unpredicable, and fun again.

It probably won't but there's also a possibility it's the last one.

Yukes made UFC Undisputed. That game has tremendous animations and visuals. The gameplay is great as well.

It's mind boggling to think that they make both series. Yet SVR feels like it's 10yrs old vs UFC that feels great. I hope that THQ can do something to freshen up the series.

They also made Rumble Roses wich has moves I wanted in SvR for years but never get though they can clearly be done and Wrestle Kingdom as well wich is apprently a lot better than SvR too.

The Smackdown Series has been "good" they seem to try and reinvent the game every year, but keep it the same as well. Season mode is different every year and not for the better. I love UFC 09 and if Smackdown can come close to it I am all for it.

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

I actually want a never ending seaon mode. I think it was one of the original smackdown games that had a season mode that pretty much never ended. Having one that only lasts a year is pretty much the reason why i only rent the game, beat the season mode in all the possible ways and take it back.

If you think about it, its like having a game you cant beat. They could have downloadable storylines that can be implemented into the game to keep it fresh.

Look at the slots available for created fighters in UFC 2009. Why we're only limited to 30 CAW slots in SVR2009 is pathetic. Even Raw 2 had 64 slots. This is next-gen, slots should be limited to the amount of hard drive space a gamer has...if there's one aspect of the game that's last-gen, it's the capabilities of CAW mode.

Each fighter in UFC takes up 9 MB on the hard drive. Either was CAW sucks in both having to take them through career mode to make them have decent points.

haha i know right??? i watched raw lastnight for the 1st time in about 1 year and i couldnt believe what i was seeing. Ric Flair was back and beaten the s*** out of Randy Orton... WTF??? NO WAY, Ric is 1000 years old and he had Randy orton bleeding and everything lol just funny. I watch a lot of UFC and to switch to a WWE show was just comical, muscle heads acting the whole time.. theres no way i can take that stuff seriously after watching a UFC match/es. Its just so fake , ive lost complete interest in WWE the older i get aha ( they dont even fake the hits good in the WWE) aha just my opinion on the whole thing ... the SVR games are ok though but UFC is the BEST !

"Details were recently released in the WWE/Jakks/THQ bribery case as the WWE appeal was lost. Interesting and slightly troubling was the news that Activision was actually a high bidder for the WWE license.

Court documents revealed that Jakks and sublicensor THQ lose the WWE license at the end of this year anyway after which it reverts to Mattel.

So, what does this mean for SvR 2010? THQ already announced it was in development.
