    Smackdown 8/28

In a match that probably should've been on Summerslam but at least we get it now,Matt Hardy & John Morrison team up to take on The Hart Dynasty.

R-Truth vs. the I'm still not sure who he is Drew McIntyre.

In the token women's match Layla goes against Melina.

    An interview with Dr. Knox.

In what appears to be a non-title match or maybe it is Mysterio vs. Kane.

Shad attempts to avenge Cryme Time's Summerslam loss in a match with Y2J.

Finally in a main event that's been described as special, memorable and amazing (but is made on the show in the first segment so will be put in a spoiler tag)...

But at least we got to see Khali vs. Kane at Summer Slam, so it was worth it.

Just watched the show. Amazing main event and finish. I am loving the direction they are going in for sure. Just as long as:

This piece of garbage is gone forever.

Best thing I've seen all day.

CM Punk is awesome. If they let him survive a whole feud with the Undertaker without losing the belt, he could turn into the best heel in years.

The funny thing is, six months ago I looked at CM Punk as a "take him or leave him" kind of guy but he is fast becoming my favorite wrestler in recent memory. The guy is now a bona fide TOP heel and can main event any PPV against any face.

I don't know how I feel about McIntyre yet. He has a weird build and is a pretty generic mid-card heel so far.

I missed the Knox interview completely (I don't know how since I DVR'd the show, maybe I fast forwarded through it?)

I was right about them turning Matt face so he can "replace" Jeff.

Speaking of Matt he looked sort of fat, pale, and balding in his tag team match. I've always liked Matt, but it seems like he's let himself go a bit.

Speaking of Jeff, he did a great job putting his brother over as a face and Punk over as a heel before he left. Great way to go out.

Punk was amazing tonight and I think he is officially a top-tier heel with RKO, Y2J, and Edge (well, Edge has sort of turned face now).

I think Punk has a great gimmick for getting heat (preaching to the crowd about how he is better than them). Like I've said before he's very similar to an early Kurt Angle. It'll be interesting to see if he expands upon making fun of wrestlers and fans for not being straight edge.

                Overall, good show.

The Knox interview didn't air. Guess they needed more time for the main event or something ran long or maybe even it was for the website. I kinda wanted to see it,this might be a good direction for him.

They didn't air what happend after Punk hit Hardy with the belt either but that's for the better.

I thought Matt still had a decent in ring performance. He wasn't in there botching a bunch of stuff or anything. As I said in the other topic I hope he starts a fued with Ziggler wich could be good for both of them.

It would be nice if Melina would turn heel and show off those legs once again!

                      Re: Smackdown 8/28

Man, this show is my saving grace as I'd given up on modern-day pro wrestling. But, after some suggestions from a few friends that still watch, I decided to start DVR'ing Smackdown a few weeks ago and I'm glad I did.

CM Punk is amazing as a heel. Are his promos completely scripted or is he coming up with this stuff off the top of his head? Either way, the delivery is really good and Jeff Hardy was the perfect guy for him to feud with to cement that heel turn.

Speaking of Hardy, man, I didn't realize how over he was in today's WWE. Guy is probably the biggest face in the company, even ahead of Cena. Really classy way to go out by putting his brother over and Punk over in the match and post-match.

Jeri-Show is an interesting team. I still like Jericho as a singles performer but I guess they are just waiting for Edge to return.

Michael Hayes can book a heck of a show. Glad this is more of a wrestling show than entertainment, as RAW is just really unwatchable most weeks.

How many commercial breaks were in the main event? At least two maybe three. It kind of ruined if for me.

That's where the DVR comes in handy

Makes me wish I had bothered to get tickets. To think two years ago my friend and I marked out when Punk pointed at my ROH sign before he fought Elijah Burke on ECW, now he's main eventing PPV's.
