Re: Hell in a Cell
This was the epitome of PG WWE nowadays. Not that I'm completely surprised but there wasn't much to make it feel like the HIAC was necessary.
Punk had to lose so the feud could continue, and frankly Cena had to lose for that feud to continue because there are simply no other players on RAW.
Couple good matches though and the crowd was pretty hot for a good amount of the matches as well.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Re: Hell in a Cell
Yeah, but next is Braggin' Rights which will be Smackdown v. Raw and Suvivor Series will most likely just be Legacy+1 vs. DX+Batista and Mysterio. Then most likely a Casket Match to finish off the Punk/Taker Fued. That's when I hope Kane gets involved and puts his brother in the Casket. This was the epitome of PG WWE nowadays. Re: Hell in a Cell
All & all it was a decent show. MOTN was defently Unified Title bout. But where my promblem comes in is that was possibly the worst main event in WWE that I can remember. It was seriously absolutly pointless! Also y the heck was there no ECW match also? Last PPV the MOTN was Regal/Christian but no lets not put 2 great workers on there instead lets add McIntyre/Truth who again no1 cared about. I sometimes wonder how WWE comes up w/ there booking ideas.Comment

Re: Hell in a Cell
I thought it was pretty good. I question why they went the way they did with some of the winners, but the actual matches were pretty good overall. I just wonder if they were planning for the Cena-Orton match to get bloody. I could've swore that when Orton did the neckbreaker over his back on Cena, a razor blade flew out of Cena's pocket and the ref picked it up a few seconds later.Comment

Re: Hell in a Cell
Awesome show.
Dolph/Morrison was great, better than any of the Rey matches. Crowd didn't die like you would think with the chain wrestling because they popped right back up once Morrison started flying around. I've already been sold on Dolph, but was always Ehh on Morrison, but he was excellent tonight. MOTN, by far.
I couldn't beleive how over Jericho was as a face and heel at the same time.
Biggest anti-Cena crowd I've seen since ONS II. At least 75/25 Orton. It was strange because most of the camera side was for Orton, so it probably seemed like 100/0 on TV.
Drew McIntyre is the future. Just had to throw that in.
Yeah, it wasn't three OMG CRAZY HELL IN A CELL MATCHEZ~!, but the only match I thought was total crap was Mickie/Alicia.
One thing I didn't like was the order of the matches. Pretty wacky and the US Title match should've switched with the Woman's match. But all in all, good matches, good storytelling and overall fun time. Love the Prudential Center, btw.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

Re: Hell in a Cell
I can't believe they had Punk/Taker be first. It was an awful match too. Did something like, happen? Something MUST have necessitated the brevity of it, not to mention the overall lackluster nature of it. Not to mention the finish. Can't believe they killed Punk's reign. Argh!
The show was pretty blah. Didn't like the structure at all, the HIAC was not needed really. Can't believe they didn't put the Triple Threat match first. Also, McIntyre/Truth should not have been on the card.
Surprisingly good was the tag match. Loved Big Show throwing Mysterio around like the rag doll that he is.
The whole PPV just seemed kinda....unnecessary.Comment

Re: Hell in a Cell
Rumor has it there's a backstage reason as to why Punk dropped the title. Either way, I'm very excite.Comment

Re: Hell in a Cell
There wouldn't have been enough time for a decent Regal/Christian match. McIntyre/Truth wasn't that long.
Maybe 'Taker actually injured his leg?Comment

Re: Hell in a Cell
I think this'll be Taker's last run. Another match with Punk and then someone they handpick for that spot, if not Punk (...lol).
I don't remember much from the match becasue I knew who was winning when it came on first, so I just cracked jokes with my brother about Punk. Taker looked bad which is why these matches have been short. Punk was good. Kicked out of the Last Ride got offense in and bumped like HBK to start the match. That match was simple and got over. Not overly good, but I wasn't offended.
I'm not mad with the result since the storyline has been garbage. Something needed to change and maybe Punk chasing is it.
I see this show getting bad reviews all over. I can understand, but I liked it. Can't believe Dolph/Morrison wasn't that well received, though.
EDIT: Wow, this show is getting crapped on everywhere. Lack of blood and violence with HIAC hype got people angry.Last edited by JiggidyJames; 10-05-2009, 12:40 AM.xbl gamertag: jiggidyjames72Comment

Re: Hell in a Cell
Punk and Taker was just flat out bad. Didn't like it, didn't use the Cell and they just do not mesh, and this is my trash of the night.
Morrison and Ziggler...I'm really interested in Ziggler. He reminds me a lot of a Mr. Perfect like wrestler, but at times he seems to get sloppy. I'm not sure what it is, but if he tightens himself up, I can see a Mr. Perfect Gimmick in his future. I am a huge Morrison fan, so I don't think I need to tell you that I personally love the way this match went. Great work from these two outside of the occasional awkwardness. I do not think they work well together and this is probably the best match we could hope for.
Divas-Trash, won't even give my opinion because I hate Women's wrestling.
Cena-Orton: I thought it was...I don't know, average maybe? The fact that I can call out the sequence before they even do it is probably a sign that these two need new partners. If I never seen Cena-Orton, Cena-HHH, Orton-HHH again, I could die a happy man.
Tag Team Match- Holy crap, that was actually a great match! Dave was average and Jericho plays the heel who can't back up his talk very well. However, every time Rey and Show were in the ring, it was like a little nugget that I had to savor. Those two have some really good chemistry between them and the Big Guy vs Little Guy works REALLY well between them. Show tossing him around was highlight of the night, personally.
Finlay vs K-Kwik...I mean Drew vs R-Truth: I don't know...I need to see Drew with a better partner than K freaking Kwik. On the other hand, he does have some brutal moves...other than that lame finisher.
Triple Threat-The Miz is fantastic on the Mic and lame in the ring. He is the equivalent to the Hot Blonde who cannot do one damn thing right in bed. Kofi Kingston is good, I guess, but I cannot stand some of his moves, including that awful jumping clothesline and his leg drop. Jack Swagger, bless his heart, had one of the worst nights ever. Dude got destroyed by a Kingston kick right to the freakin face. I'm not the biggest Swagger fan but I don't think this was the right match for him.
DX vs Legacy: This match was freaking brutal. Between some of the stuff Hickenbottom did, including that absolutely SICK chair spot where he hit the back of his head on the chair, and the H "hot tag" so to speak, it was a good way to end the show. I really, really, REALLY want to see the Double Double turn HBK on HHH though. He is constantly taking the punishment while Hunter is taken out by one move. There is a storyline there and I hope the pull the trigger on it. Side note, but Ted Jr, IMO, has some serious star power, probably double what Cody has, and needs a push ASAP. He could be the next big thing.
And now there is something I need to touch on because it's really getting on my freaking nerves...can we treat these belts with just a little more respect? It seems like every month the World or WWE title is changing hands instead of setting someone up for a long reign and it is making the title look cheep. Give it to ONE guy and let him go over strong for crying out loud. Just because one guy is the heel and the other a face doesn't mean the face HAS to win. I would give my left nut for a heel able to go over strong, clean and with some brutality in a main event feud.
Overall, I thought it was a pretty average show. I don't think anything was amazingly good or bad, although Taker-Punk was pretty bad and DX-Legacy was pretty good. I don't know, 3.5 out of 5, IMO.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Hell in a Cell
This may be what you're talkin' about
Spoiler
According to F4WOnline.com CM Punk is in the dog house right now over something that happened on the most recent overseas tour.
Apparently this is part of the reason why WWE decided to open the Hell In A Cell PPV with CM Punk dropping the World title to The Undertaker.
We will have more details on this
in the news later. Check back for more information.

Yeah, he did -- or at least I saw the same thing you did.I thought it was pretty good. I question why they went the way they did with some of the winners, but the actual matches were pretty good overall. I just wonder if they were planning for the Cena-Orton match to get bloody. I could've swore that when Orton did the neckbreaker over his back on Cena, a razor blade flew out of Cena's pocket and the ref picked it up a few seconds later.
I think Taker is still gimped, which is probably another reason why the match was high-up on the card. Regardless or whether or not Punk did something, I think it's safe to say that those two would end any show that involves a HIAC if Taker was healthy -- Taker and HIAC are synonymous after all.
BTW, just to mention one thing about wrestling reporting. There have been a few other instances where it was reported that Punk "was in the doghouse" only to be pushed to the moon soon after, so I do have some trouble buying that report without some good sources. And I think that's a given with all wrestling reporting because so much of it is false information.Last edited by ChaseB; 10-05-2009, 01:31 AM.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update).
