OK, so first my TV dies on Sunday. Luckily I get an amazing deal on a new one so I'm still set to pick up Smackdown vs Raw today. So last night, after hooking everything up to my new TV I decide fire up NCAA Football 2011 and give it a spin to test out the new TV. Well the Xbox loads well but then the colors go funky. I turn off the Xbox and turn it back on and then it doesn't connect to the TV at all.
So I call 1-800-4MYXBOX and get told it is most likely just the cables. So happy me picks up some next cables when I purchase the game today. Well I get home, hook up the new cables and still nothing. It won't connect still. That means hardware issue for the 360 now. Now, 2 and half hours later I'm still on the phone with Microsoft, looks like $120 bucks is standard to fix, so another screwed up device for me.
Good news is I have a PS3. I haven't opened SVR yet so tomorrow it goes back and is traded in for the PS3 version. Microsoft actually refunded me for fan axxess and I repurchased it on PSN so only an extra day's wait. Still frustrating I can't get a break with these electronics. But one more day's wait and I'll be playing. I just wish I'd gone ahead and just preordered on PS3 in the first place and then I'd be playing tonight.
I guess the biggest lesson of all is that it pays not to be a fanboy of just one of the systems. If you got more than one then you've got a backup plan in case something goes wrong....
Only down part is man I was so ready to play tonight and now the wait I had last night is ten times worse. Blah on that note.
