My Universe Mode simulation idea...

So, I got to the end of the year in Universe Mode (TLC PPV) and decided to see how real this played out with a fresh, realistic start.

The first thing I did was remove ALL alliances and rivalries. I made sure everyone in the game was on their correct brand and made everyone else free agents. I also put both women's titles on McCool, stuck her on Raw and made every other Diva a free agent so there wouldn't be any Divas matches cluttering up the cards.

This is how I started the rosters...

The first major discrepancy I noticed was that Raw is far too face heavy and lacks heels while SmackDown is perfectly balanced. I am hoping that the game will compensate for this with some heel turns, bu who knows? If it doesn't balance out I can always do a small draft after Extreme Rules like the actual WWE does to try and even things out a bit.

I am going to be simming Raw, Superstars and SmackDown and playing all of the PPV matches and randomly selecting who I choose.

Let's see how this works out...

Thanks for doing this. Interested to see the results as they go. I am building an old school universe so I may not start it for another month. Still need to create and find the wrestlers.

With all the time it can take to make a good CAW, I am hoping the universe will hold up its end of the bargain. Then just hope there is some type of patch to fix the pin issue. I always wait for hitting a finisher in every match. Just a shame I know that the pin is an automatic 3 count.

I look forward to see how this turns out. It may not be perfect, but this mode adds so much more over last year's version.

Thanks, man. I just wanted to see for myself how this mode really shapes up and just figured I would share my results with everyone else as either a comparison for those already playing the game/mode or a little of what to expect for those who haven't yet.

I play on Legend difficulty with default sliders and I get a LOT of 2 counts, bot for myself and the CPU. I play all of the PPV matches that I list but I am deliberately not telling you guys who I controlled just for the sake of the experiment, kayfabe, etc. I do randomly pick which wrestler I use for each match though buy flipping a coin for the heads up matches and rolling a die for the Elimination Chamber and MitB matches. I use other methods for matches with between 3 and 5 wrestlers involved.

I'd say I win about 90% of my singles matches on Legend when I am facing an opponent of lesser skill, about 60% when I am facing an opponent with equal skill and about 40% when facing an opponent with superior skill. That's just singles matches though, anything with more than one opponent is much tougher to win.

Those aren't typos by the way. It was weird seeing Triple H in the midcard match and Chavo in the main event match. If their places were traded then everything would have been pretty much "sim" so to speak.

In fact, after double checking neither guy is even a top 10 contender for the belt in which they wrestled for.

I have to say I was rather disappointed by the CPU generated card for WrestleMania. Just look at the MitB match. None of those guys should have been in the match when a lot of better guys were left off of the card altogether. Plus, what's up with the odd non-title match between Morrison & Primo? The Miz is still the #1 contender for the US title so why not have them wrestle instead? It just doesn't make sense to me.

The biggest gaffe is the CPU booking the Undertaker twice. First in a non-title match against Kane and second in a WHC match against Swagger. Now the match against Swagger makes perfect sense since he won the Royal Rumble and earned a shot at the title, but the bout against Kane makes no sense whatsoever. I am thinking that the CPU just books Taker in a match at WM no matter what and glitches him into two matches if he happens to be holding a world championship. Strange, but I hope this can be fixed with a patch.

^^ That is strange. Hopefully, it will get fixed via patch.

As of now, I've been playing every match in my Universe. I've been playing the game "straight out of the box"- with no adjustments what-so ever. If I see something strange (matcup wise) then I just chose custom match and make my adjustments accordingly. It's not ideal but, I'm having a blast so far.

Yeah, that was weird to see 'Taker wrestling twice. Keep posting results, I'm enjoying seeing how this unveils.

Before I sim the month of May, I am contemplating whether or I should do a small draft. What do you guys think? They're aren't enough heels on Raw and there are zero tag teams on SmackDown.

In fact, there are only three tag teams at all anymore and they are all on Raw and are all crowd favorites. This will leave the division a little stale, so to speak.

Any thoughts or opinions on what I should do?

If I did have a draft, what I would to is write down the names of every Raw superstar without a belt on little pieces of paper and put them into a hat. Then I would so the same for the guys on SmackDown. I would then draw 4 names out of the Raw hat and 3 out of the SmackDown hat and those guys would trade shows. The reason I would send one additional guy to SmackDown from Raw would be to balance out the rosters at 20 guys per show instead of the 21/19 ratio I have now.
