What Are Some Of Your Favorite/Most Memorable Matches Of All Time

I was just reading through the other thread. And it got me thinking about some matches I really thought were good.

So I'm interested in hearing what matches that were most memorable to you guys...And as always with me, I like to hear "why".

My personal favorite was The Rock/Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania.

I was always a huge Rock mark. No matter if he was heel or face. So when they booked him against the Icon at Wrestlemania, I was so pumped.

I thought they did a great job building up this match. If I can remember correctly, they didn't even lay a finger on each other at all until the TV program before the PPV. But they did a great job with the mind games and cutting promos leading up to WM.

Small thing, but the theme music for WM, I think it was a Limp Bizcut (sp?...lol), got me so hype when they combined it with their WM video promo.

Then the match itself I thought was superb. The crowd was so amped the whole time. Rock was pushed as the face and Hogan as heel. But during the match, the crowd was on Hogans side, cheering Hogan and booing Rock to go along with the classic "Rocky Sucks!" chant. And I thought Rock did a great job during the match by switching his role and embracing the heel role during the match even though he was suppose to be face.

Then I thought the culmination was fantastic in that I had no idea who was going to win and there were a few times I thought it was over it wasn't.

Then the respect at the end and what I thought was the "passing of the torch".

One of my most memorable has to be the TLC match between the Hardyz/Dudleys/E&C. Hands down one of the most entertaining, "Oh ****!" kinda memorable matches I've ever seen because at the time those were the kind of spots that the WWE rarely ever used.

Stone Cold Vs 'Taker/Kane, Buried Alive Match (Unforgiven, I believe)
The Rock Vs Mankind, I Quit (Backlash)
The Rock Vs Austin (every one of them)
Austin Vs McMahon, Cage Match (Valentine's Day Massacre)
HBK Vs Stone Cold, Title Match (Wrestlemania)
HBK Vs Taker, WM 25

I'm sure there are plenty of others I'm forgetting, but those are the ones that stand out in my head right now.

Clearly I'm the complete opposite of 55 and absolutely loved the Attitude Era.

Well, I've been watching wrestling since before you were born and I am much more of a "wrestling" fan than a "sports entertainment" fan.

Bret/Owen cage match from Summerslam 94. I don't think I even saw it until the cage match DVD but it was fantastic.

HHH/Rock ladder match from Summerslam 98.

HBK/Taker first HiaC match.

RVD/Cena from ONS 2. Great atmosphere. Still the only MitB cashed-in for a legit match.

Now I can only think of ECW matches.

I know some people don't like it but I think the HBK/Hart Ironman match is one of the best ever. I think the most memorable moment has to be the formation of the NWO.

While it certainly hasn't aged as well as a lot of other matches, I still really like it. It's just that all of these youngsters that grew up in the Crapitude Era don't have the attention span for matches like that.

- Bam Bam and Taz going through the ring

- Spike Dudley getting thrown to the crowd and being body surfed by the crowd.

- Foley's 20 ft drop in HIAC.

- Kawada dropping Misawa on his head.

It's absolutely true for the most part. I don't care if anyone agrees or disagrees with it. Most teenagers don't want to sit through an hour long wrestling match just like they don't want to sit through a black and white film for two hours. It's just the way it is, at least from what I have seen and/or heard from the younger generations these days.

There are a ton more that I loved, these are just off the top of my head.

Some moments:

Goldberg beating Hogan for the WCW title in June of 98. Not for the match but just the atmosphere. One of the hottest crowds ever.

Nexus face off with the Raw guys this past summer. The whole damn arena was shaking.

Y2J, nuff said.

WM 6 when Warrior beat Hogan.

Survivor Series being on Thanksgiving Eve

HBK putting Janetti through the Barber Shop window.

Damien being crushed by earthquake. (I know he wasn't really in the bag)

Jake the Snakes Cobra biting Macho man.
