I would welcome it. Like, I've mentioned a few times in this forum, I just started to get back into wrestling. In the other thread, I brought up "interesting" Diva matches. When I said that, I was talking about more interesting diva matches as a whole. There isn't anything interesting about the Diva matches they have. All their matches just seem like filler. Like an afterthought.
"Hmm...Looks like we still got about 2:37 left in this weeks show to fill."
"Want to throw in a quick promo for someone?"
"Na. You know what we'll do? Let's throw in a divas tag team match. That'll do it."
All of their matches hold no weight and are completely meaningless. I would like for them to get more TV time than the 1-2 minutes they get every week.
Since watching, although I by no means am the best evaluator of pure wrestling talent, I feel like there are a few girls that do a pretty decent job in the ring. Good enough that they can do more than what they are given every week. I feel like there's good amount of talent with todays Divas just based on what I've seen.
You have Beth, Natalya, Laycool, Gail Kim, and that screaming chick all have looked pretty good to me...in the ring that is...I meant that wrestling wise.

But they never get to showcase any talent. Back in my day (lol..I'm 23) the divas got a lot more TV time. They would cut some promo's, get a lot more backstage time, and feuds were there and it made matches more meaningful. I mean, they would get MULTIPLE segments in a single show. That never happens now.
The divas went over well with the crowds. Trish, Lita, Victoria, Mickie James, Molly Holly, Sable, Jazz, Chyna, and Jacqueline. They were more than just filler entertainment. Their matches held value and they were given more in ring and backstage time. I still remember seeing Victoria's "Widow's Peak" the first time and was like Holy S**t! lol
What's crazy to me is that the Diva's now are a lot better. ESPECIALLY than in the Sable era. lol
And it wasn't just wrestling wise either. They would play roles in other storylines going on and interact more with the male wrestlers as well. I remember Stephanie, Linda, Chyna and Debra all being involved in storylines. Hell, even Stacy Kiebler (my personal favorite) and Torrie Wilson had more interesting moments than what the Divas have now.
I think the Divas today are much better wrestlers than the divas of old. So I don't know why we see them LESS than we did before. I would like to see them get more time on the mic and backstage just to have their matches mean more. Laycool is always entertaining to me when they get mic time. They even got a few chuckles out of me. Natalya is the freaking womens champ and I don't think I've heard her speak yet.
Back then they would actually feud. They would attack each other backstage, talk smack back and forth, use weapons on each other, hell they even had dudes hit em with finishers. I also remember that they had a street fight at a pay per view and even had a cage match. Which was actually on RAW!
Why can't we get that now?
So I'd welcome some more Diva time and think it has the potential to be solid if given the opportunity.
Thoughts?
