Because THQ is a publisher and has little to do with making the game other than writing the checks for funding. Aki was the developer, and THQ decided to back yukes instead of Aki for the long term.

I was going to say something similar, point out for the 2095th time Aki doesn't even exsist anymore and suck now but he said formula. They can still go back to the formula technically. Pretty sure we'll never get to edit wrestlers like that again but otherwise it should be doable. Of course I think it's outdated and over rated to begin with and they need to make different changes than going back to that.

I had good memories of that. Now it looks terrible.

Re: Favorite Wrestling game of all time?

One of my favorite games was Here Comes The Pain. Recently started playing it again and having a blast with it. Picked up an Action Replay and have done the following things with it to make it a lot better.

Also created any wrestlers that I wanted from caws.ws which has some real decent ones (Hogan, Andre, Bret Hart, APA, Jeff Hardy, Sting, etc)

Action Replay wise, have done the following.

        - Edited every wrestler and CAW attributes to how I think they are. On a new scale so strong and quick wrestlers stand out. Scale is now up to 12 instead of 10 for everything except durability which is up to 15 and technique (explained below).
        - Got the hidden entrances of Hogan and Warrior which are pretty cool.
        - Got the winning animations of Hogan, Warrior, Hardy, etc.
        - Edited all weight classes. With the Action Replay, there's 8 (super super superweight all the way to light light lightweight).
        - Edited technique for all wrestlers and CAWs up to a scale of 5. Technique is the ability to reverse moves and with no sliders and too many reversals, lowering this for all wrestlers has worked wonders.
        - Updated all move lists and replaced moves which can and can't be used as finishers.

Lower technique ratings (reversals) meant more moves were being hit hence the increase of durability to 15.

Having a great time with the game. A lot of fun at the moment with one of the best rosters I've had in a game.

The roster on that game is amazing - almost everyone is in it apart from a couple of guys you mentioned. Any game where you can have The Rock, Goldberg, Lesnar, Flair, Austin and Undertaker in one ring is pretty amazing.

You can have a 30-man Royal Rumble and the worst guys in it are Edge, Cena, Orton and Christian - that's how good that roster is.
Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!

Now Playing FIFA, UFC 4, PGA Tour 2k23, WWE, MLB The Show and Dirt Rally 2.0

WCW/nWo Revenge on N64 is my favorite wrestling all the time and like that one
really much. I think it is the best wrestling for all the time.
