Why does Hogan get a pass? His comebacks were way worse than Cena's and made his opponent look like a complete idiot every single time with his ridiculous "Hulk Ups". Its amazing how guys like HBK, Sting, and Angle are revered for their no-selling comebacks while the guy whose moniker is "Never Give Up" is blasted for it. And you must have missed Cena's entrance during the Hart/R-Truth promo on RAW, he hobbled the whole way to ring.

And then the hobble disappeared. Its one thing to hobble if you had a tough match. When you get the crap beat outta you the way he did you should sell it more.
Hogan gets a pass because of the Hulk Up and the fact that he sold the hell out of the beatings he talk prior to the hulk up. Like I said, if Cena had a way to sell SuperCena as he was drawing on his fans or something like that then it would be less dumb. As it is he just starts randomly no selling.
And when the hell did HBK no sell something? I'm dead serious, please give me an example of him consistently no selling something.Comment

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
I think Woody/Goh and Rick are both right. Cena put Nexus on the map, and he took them right off. That's what infuriated me about the angle. When it was good, it was the best thing going in a long time. But, after Wade never won the belt, Cena was fired for like a week (while Juan Cena beat up the Nexus), and 200 chairs fell on Wade, it was all over. They tried revamping Nexus again with Punk, but Orton took Cena's place and the group has been on life support for awhile. They did so much right in the beginning and so much wrong at the end. You both are right.

As far as Cena goes, it's obvious that he's injured just like in NBA2K. He limps around the ring (or court) holding his stomach, and when the match comes to an end, he hits the turbo button and is miraculously healed and can move free from injury... obviously!Comment

Michaels has been kipping up, dancing around, and ignoring any damage his opponent just inflicted since roughly 1995. He got better about it towards the end of his career. If he wasn't no selling, he was over selling in an attempt to mock his opponent.Comment

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
Well the Hogan thing simply doesn't work anymore, ironically enough because of Hogan. After the nWo people want to see the bad guy win sometimes now. They don't cheer for Cena's oppoent,it's always "Cena sucks",they cheer against him.
Far as I know Hogan still made others look good. It certianly didn't hurt Andre or Macho Man and no one would know who Zeus ever was. The way Miz lost here, that doesn't make him look good. He's not even a cowardly heel,he's a conniving heel. Constantly coming up with plans and schemes to put things to his advantage. He did a great job of that then it's "oh hai I haz supapowerz" for Cena. As I mentioned when Orton was very poorly selling his leg injury it kinda cuts into the suspension of disbelief required to enjoy the show. Cena does do a very good job sometimes but not on nights like how it went down here.Comment

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
Orton did take over the Cena role once Punk started the 'New Nexus'.
My problem isn't that Cena and Orton were beating Nexus regularly, it was that they were doing it with apparent ease nearly every single time. They could have put over the individual members with longer, tougher matches, which would have increased the whole group's credibility. Cena and Orton could still have won.
Evolution became so successful because each member was perceived to be strong and as a result the group is strong. Even Orton and Batista who were relatively inexperienced were built well while in the group. Even Fourtune in TNA were built that way originally. AJ Styles, Kazarian and Beer Money were all over in their own right. With Flair as the head of the group they looked strong.
I know that nearly all the members of Nexus and now The Corre have only been in WWE for roughly a year, but it's the frequency that groups of 4 people get humiliated by one individual that frustrates me. Even Big Show and Kane have had a harder time than Cena did with the entire Nexus.
Just to add - Kofi Kingston showed us how to sell a leg injury this week.Last edited by woody2goody; 05-25-2011, 04:18 PM.Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!

except he's not doing a good job. It's not his fault it's the writers and bookers. I also don't see how failing to go all out every match helps those around him look better. I think the last thing Cena has is that reputation where people say, "he can work a match with anyone" or "they should put him in a match with Cena because Cena can make anyone look good" He's a great face with a great character, if he's going to no sell stuff he just needs to come up with a better way of doing it.
And Hogan lost clean to more than just the Ultimate Warrior(who i'm guessing is who you're referencing). Just off the top of my head he lost to Undertaker clean(in fact it was Hogan that had to cheat to beat him).Comment

And I think you're overstating the no-sell thing a bit, based on one bad night. Cena's a good seller, that's one of the strongest parts of his in-ring ability. Of course the Super Cena stuff gets old, but it comes with the territory when you look at how WWE usually books the top face, from Hogan to Austin and Rock.Comment

Re: Over the Limit 5/22/11
Are you just exaggerating by saying that Warrior is literally the only guy to beat Hogan clean? Rock beat him clean, Dino Bravo beat him clean, Luger beat him clean, Goldberg beat him clean, Sting beat him clean, Kurt Angle beat him clean, Lesnar beat him clean. You are aware of all these right?Comment
