I broke down and ordered the PPV. I love the MITB matches themselves and the Punk thing has me intrigued. I realllly didn't want to pay money for another WWE event for a while (after WM), but they sucked me in for this one. I am also looking forward to the Show vs Henry. I think they have doen a good job of making him into a monster.

This isn't dirt because I have no clue, but I really do think Punk is going to take at least a couple months off, so I really want to see what happens even more honestly.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

Re: Money In The Bank - 7/17/11
It would really, really suck (and be pretty stupid) to have Punk take a couple months off though. Not with this momentum. Not with Summerslam looming. Not with the publicity being garnered.
It would be HORRIBLE business.Comment

Re: Money In The Bank - 7/17/11
But it's not up to the WWE,it's up to Punk. It's all on if he re-signed. He could still do both. As someone suggested make a 24/7 rule and film segements in airports etc.,maybe he'll go defend it in ROH where he'd only have to work once or twice a month for 3 months.
I'll say anything but Cena flatout winning would probably result in this being match of the year. I hope the atmosphere for the MitB matches isn't effected too much because everyone is waiting for Cena/Punk. I expect it to be the same level as RVD/Cena.Comment

How much more amazing would every other sport be if they even had HALF of the WWE's video department? That promo was ****ing awesome.Comment

Re: Money In The Bank - 7/17/11
Plus, if he has re-signed or has agreed to re-sign, he can take his time off and they can still further the story (teases, etc). If the angle is that he's wanting to leave with the title, it's actually better if he's not on Raw right after anyway, regardless of the result of the match (see Cena being "fired" during the Nexus stuff as the opposite example).
Personally, I think it would be worse business to not sell the angle. The WWE can (and has) lived through mediocre/poor ratings before. Risking that in the short term with Punk's absence for a long term payoff centered around his return would actually be good business.
That's all if he re-signs though. If not, it's a moot point. Like Goh said though, it's ultimately up to Punk.Comment

Re: Money In The Bank - 7/17/11
Vince covers his bets and names ADR #1 contender and turns it into a triple threat match that ADR wins. Punk takes ADRs spot in mitb and wins, and cashes. Punk wins, clean, and completes a face turn. Vince fires Cena. Now playing

Re: Money In The Bank - 7/17/11
I'm having trouble pulling the trigger on ordering tonight just because I'm at the point that I think Punk is done (for a while) and that we're either going to see him tap out or him win and then lose the title to the MITB winner.
Both finishes do nothing for me and set everything back to about 3 weeks ago when I was forcing myself to read the results of both shows and cared less about tuning in.Comment
