Re: Raw 08/01/2011 - At the Colta-ColtaCabana
I think that was the first time I didn't mind talking for 30 minutes to start a Raw.
Stopped watching the diva battle royale when AJ was eliminated.
Rey/JoMo vs. Miz/Truth was quite good.
Dolph/A-Ri might turn out well.
I like the logo on the tag titles but the brass color is awful. Broke out the old Demolition finisher there. Nice.
I dunno about anyone else but I'm losing hope with ADR.
Crappy ending. It ended like 10 minutes early didn't it? Usually its overrun.Comment

Re: Raw 08/01/2011 - At the Colta-ColtaCabana
I think the man might just be sick of all the "Punk is back so why aren't you here" tweets. At this point in his life Jericho doesn't need wrestling. His family is set for the distant future. He is one of the few who the door is always open too.
He will come back but right now he wants to do his music thing. Wrestling and music are his two loves. He has done everything in wrestling and wants to explore the music side.
The guy is touring with major rock bands and living his dream. Sad that people think twitter gives them the right to talk **** to someone. Twitter has become the new message board of the internet. Everyone is a tough guy but the only difference is celebrities are accessible. Which in turn makes it much worse because jealousy becomes a factor.Comment

All I know is the intro tonight was amazinggggggg. Along with a fantastic Miz/Truth segment + tag match -- I really think these two make sense together as allies. They clearly focused a bit more on the mid-card tonight and need to continue to do so moving forward.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

I haven't called out any celebrity out of "jealousy". We need to get over this as a people, that somehow if you clown someone who's richer or more famous than you, it's always a product of jealousy. No. Sometimes, they do and say stupid **** and deserve to be called out on it, and treating them like everyone else is treated actually brings them DOWN to Earth, instead of holding them as some infallible entity.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 08-02-2011, 07:27 AM.Comment

The ending with the alternating music was a little corny, but oh well. Seems like they might be putting stock in the lower belts again, which is great.
Truth and Miz win the tag belts at Summerslam? Puts prestige back into the titles, and leaves you open for an eventual Miz face turn.Michigan WolverinesChicago White SoxComment

Re: Raw 08/01/2011 - At the Colta-ColtaCabana
- The first 30 minutes of RAW were simply awesome. Never seen somebody actually get in the last word on Triple H. CM Punk is freaking awesome. And it's always those little small lines that keep me going, "Apparently, it's time to play the game." "Look, I love Motorhead and all, but I'm not finished." The old-school Triple H curtsy...and on and on.
- The Divas Battle Royal...since we can't think of a legitimate storyline, let's have a #1 contender battle royal so they can all get facetime!!! God that sucked. At least Beth Phoenix is being booked legitimately again.
- Pretty good tag match between Miz/Truth and Morrison/Mysterio. And Truth is EVIL! I mean he hit Morrison with a devastating slam from that water bottle.
- The Summerslam Recall shows todays wrestlers that you never, EVER, want to utter these lines on a hot mic..."Gimme anybody to wrestle". Because even to do this day, Ultimate Warrior will run out and squash you (on his blog).
- The fact that I can't remember that Dolph Ziggler had a world title run should tell you how meaningful that title run was.
- McG/Otunga vs Santino/Internet Champion Zack Ryder....They basically threw Ryder out there to shut up the Internet crowd and then promptly squash him...yep, makes sense. And would somebody please throw that stupid cobra thing of Santino's into a trash can and burn it?
- Del Rio vs Evan Bourne...Another squash match. At this point, why is Evan Bourne even on the roster? When was the last time he even won a match?
- Last segment was decent. Everybody and their blind grandmother knew that Triple H was going to announce a match at Summerslam between Punk and Cena. Could've done without that title belt scene (with changing theme music of course).
- Jeez, the middle of RAW tonight was freaking horrible. You could've watched the first segment and the last segment, and the rest of the night, watched something else and not missed anything.Comment

Re: Raw 08/01/2011 - At the Colta-ColtaCabana
This Punk angle must really be working to bring in New/Old fans. After reading through this thread it was funny to read some of the things people had questions about. Big discussion about the look of the Tag Belts, which have looked like that for quite some time now, so I'm not sure why people were upset about them now. Lots of questions about stuff that happened over a month ago. Pretty awesome that he's bringing people back.
Not sure how many people listened to him on the BS report but Punk said his goal was to make people no longer embarrassed about wrestling. That he wants to make it main stream and as popular as it was at the height of Austin's popularity.Comment
