I'm going to try throwing another wrestling game idea out here. This one is pretty complex as well but would be amazing if we could pull it off. I'm also going to preface this by saying participation would not be required but encouraged.
I've been thinking about this a lot over the past month and now I would like to open it up to discussion and get feedback. Basically, it starts out like any league here where people create their own wrestlers, I'll let you create your own wrestler, entrance, general moveset, finisher, etc., this is where having the game will help because I can just download your CAW. The difference between this league will be that instead of text based, I will use a capture card to make videos of the match and put them on YouTube. Ideally, I would like to find one person to be a commentator, I would send them the videos and they would record commentary over it and then send it back to me for final production. The only thing I'm unsure of at the moment is doing promos. I'm leaning towards using the create-a-story mode in the game and either using text bubbles to relay what they're saying or if I have volunteers to do voice acting (how cool would it be for you to do voice acting for your own character?!) then we could do that. Or at the very least, promos can be done via text. How the league would work would be that myself and possible one or two other depending on how big the staff is would come up with storylines based on how your characters are doing. All matches will be CPU vs. CPU and not predetermined so that throws a twist into the storylines. I will obviously take into suggestions what other people want and probably have a separate area for you to pick feuds and such but it will be based on how well your character is doing.
I'll probably end up going to other sites as well to find helpers so it wouldn't just be this forum, unless there is a big enough turn out. Let me restate that if you don't want to, you are not required to participate in any of the behind the scenes stuff and it would not effect your character as your matches/title shots are based on how your character does in game.
Overall, I think it would a lot of fun to do and bring a lot of immersion here but I would need some help as I could not do this alone. I wanted to open this up to discussion and get some opinions. I think I included everything in this post but thoughts have been flooding through my head for the longest time so I'm bound to have forgot something.
