Hate them now but I'll most likely grow into them.

Re: Does anybody else absolutely HATE these new controls??
Here Comes the Pain has nearly the same Grapple System and people talk about how much they loved that game.
The R Stick last year is the same thing as Pressing X and a direction. You flicked the stick in a direction to a grapple, then flick again for a move. You press X an a direction for a grapple, then x an a direction for a move. Same thing.
It's nice being able to target limbs.
It's nice being able to hold X for a break point submission instead of having to click R3.
The R stick now being used to position people is great!
Wake Up taunts are great as well.
Comeback system is neat for the guys that can do it.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment

Re: Does anybody else absolutely HATE these new controls??
I hate the new controls, I feel like I'm wrestling with my controller as much as I am my opponents. I don't have a feel for my character, maybe I need more time. I don't get the countering system, it seems so random. I wish they would quit being so hard headed and go with the no mercy system and tweek it a bit. A block button for strikes and a block button for for grapples. I'd like the option to counter and reverse every move, that would lead to some great chain wrestling exchanges. Now I don't want to see the countering system being over done or exploited but if my wrestlers not technical like Cena, even if I'm button mashing counter, I'll just be taking a beat down in the grappling department, but when it comes to strikes I'm a champ.Last edited by game20ver; 11-24-2011, 01:18 PM.Comment

It adds a bit more strategy than this system.Comment

Are you suppose to button mash or just tap A? I've been just tapping one button so is that why I haven't been able to make anyone submit?Follow me for live wrestling tweets @molarmiteComment

Re: Does anybody else absolutely HATE these new controls??
I like the controls but then again i haven't had a wrestling game for a while so its kinda fresh for me. Its going to take me a while to remember everything but i'll get there.
In the meantime i will just keep getting my *** handed to me.Comment

It takes time but once you learn how to set up your moves, the matches have a nice flow. I'm solidly impressed.Comment

Re: Does anybody else absolutely HATE these new controls??
I keep using the same ones in the few matches I just played, like I noticed a majority of my moves with Orton just now ended up being a suplex and backdrop. I'm assuming you need to move something in a different directionSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Does anybody else absolutely HATE these new controls??
I thought the move list goes like this.
Up + grapple gives 5 power moves up,d,l,r, and just x
D + grapple gives you 5 behind moves u,d,l,r, and x
L + grapple gives you 5 arm/limb damage moves etc..
R + grapple same arm/limb
and normal grapple gives you 5.
giving you 20-25 moves if you count L+R as the same.Comment

Re: Does anybody else absolutely HATE these new controls??
Yea, the controls are touchy. I've done a grapple and it instantly does a move. I wish training mode was still around. I may pull out a 2nd controller and just do some practicing and write down someone's move list so I can make sure I see all the moves.Comment
