So basically it was just a reason to have HHH come out and talk last Monday?

If he was going to be fired, they wouldn't do it on a Tuesday morning and post it on a webpage. It was a way to get HHH back on TV, not just for last week.

Re: Raw 02/06/12 - Somethingsomethingsomething Dark Side

Ok, had to abruptly leave the thread early last night, so here are my thoughts on what I remember.

Triple H/Undertaker Segment - it was great, but as I've previously stated, I really don't want to see that match again. That being said, with HBK coming back next week, I would love to see him talk HHH into doing it, then agree to be special referee.

CM Punk/Jericho Segment - disappointed in Punk. I wanted to see them at least have a small encounter, where they showed off their exceptional mic skills. I do see what Punk was doing - he was pulling a Jericho, but that doesn't mean I liked it.

Divas Match - more than forgettable. I mean, really? They could have done a Brodus Clay "match" in that time.

Bryan vs Big Show - this storyline is starting to get stale to me (thank God I don't watch Smackdown, or it would be really old...). I get what they're going for, but that doesn't make it any better to me. This may just be because I'm not a fan of Daniel Bryan as a World Champion. As a wrestler? He's top notch. but I can't see him being someone that could "carry the company", so to speak.

Orton & Khali vs Rhodes & Barrett - I was mildly entertained during this match. The back & forth between Orton & Khali was decent, but the match itself was too short (not surprising considering Khali was in it).

6 Pack Challenge - this match was a big let down, to me. Miz was a steady botch fest, it seemed...first, he didn't come near letting R-Truth hit him, thus making Truth take a nasty bump. Then, he clearly thought Jericho was supposed to double clothesline him that time, so he went down, even though there was no clothesline. And last, when he and Jericho were crawling to make their double pins, he crawled to the wrong guy at first. The match didn't have as much action as I had hoped it would. For 85% of the match, there were 2 or more people just lying on the outside of the ring. I understood why Jericho was doing it early on, but it seemed like Kofi & Ziggler spent a majority of the match outside of the ring.

The very end segment with Kane & Eve was pretty creepy, but not enough to salvage a poor RAW. My problem is, these Smackdown guys have their own show - leave them on there. We haven't seen Swagger for a few weeks. Clay didn't have his usual squash match this week. No Cena. Very disappointing.

I hated all of the promos they showed. Cena and Carl Edwards. Countless ads for Journey 2. The WrestleMania promos. Showing The Rock on Leno. Seems like they just took a week off, knowing that next week will be big, with HBK returning. and am I the only one who hates that guys voice, who does the voice over for the promos?

Oh, and don't know how I forgot to mention this - I was cracking up when Daniel Bryan went to the outside and "hurt his knee", and that guy with the crown on was yelling "if you'd eat meat, that wouldn't happen". haha

I agree with this. Either end the brand split or keep them on their own shows except for special occasions. The way they have it now just makes no sense.

I think the Punk/Jericho feud should just be an entire Raw just to make all those obsessed with instant gratification happy. They have 7 Raws and a PPV. They can't do everything all at once. As great as it might be, I think hearing them go back and forth every week would get hold by the time March rolled around. A title change, however, would make this go a long way into Wrestlemania.

Don't take what I said as me being impatient. I was fine with what Jericho was doing when he first came back. and I'm fine with them building this feud up. However, I think Punk should have spoken last night...they didn't have to have a verbal battle, but I figured Punk could have said something about how times had changed since Jericho left..maybe throw a few insults at him; nothing big.

I'm sure they have it planned out to where at Elimination Chamber, something will happen between Punk & Jericho - whether it be Jericho winning the title, or Jericho costing Punk the title (or vice versa), thus leading up to a match at WrestleMania (maybe for the title, maybe just for the title of "Best In The World")

I would say there is a less than zero chance that Punk/Jericho isn't for the title at Mania.

Jericho should have won the rumble (end of the world thing would have made more since instead of him coming back and potentially loosing 2 PPV's claiming he's the real best in the world..)

I hope there isnt a title change at EC because I am tired of the hot potato game.

WWE writing been dropping the ball since Nexus so I am not going be surprise if the outcome isnt up to expectations.

Punk's had the title for 2+ months now, the longest reign since the Miz last year. How would it be 'hot potato' if he lost?

Yes, 2+ months is long compared to how the title has been hot potato'd..

                            We're calling 3 months long..

I agree that the belt in general shouldn't be hot potatoed, but if Punk lost to Jericho it wouldn't fit into that category since it would further their feud heading into WM. And if Punk won it back and had another 2-3 month reign after WM it would be fine as well.

But if you expect WWE to drop the ball without even giving it a shot then fine, I can't change your mind. I think this is going to be a great feud and hopefully a great match at WM, regardless of who goes in as champ. People were clamoring for Punk/Jericho for months now and now that they're getting it they still find little things to complain about it.

Because we been disappointed before with story lines. I am sure the actual match is going to be awesome, but I dont watch WWE just for the wrestling...

The story is just as important and they havent been delivering in that category lately so we have a legit reason to doubt.
