RTWM vs UNIVERSE

....... The title is a little misleading but I want RTWM removed COMPLETELY its just taking up space IMO

UNIVERSE can actually live up 2 its potential if RTWM is removed .... I think UNIVERSE should be their MAIN focus on WWE 13

I mean who wants to play through RTWM just 2 unlock certain superstars when they be in the game to START with

UNIVERSE can prob have: promos, authentic draft outcomes, realistic cutscenes, basically EVERTHING WWE

Really, it's that simple?

Even though RTWM wasn't great this year, I like the idea. It reminded me of the story mode in Mortal Kombat. The difficulty and AI are what killed the mode for me.

yeah i probably got a lil carried away but maybe because im a UNIVERSE person but maybe if they add RTWM features to UNIVERSE or just put the two together or something

I agree with putting the two modes together some how, some way. All Universe mode needs is promos and backstage stuff. If they had all that, it would be perfect.

Well, I wouldn't say perfect.

Universe sorely needs a few things.

1.) The ability to edit the whole show once before you start the show. Most of us probably spend a lot of time in and out of the actual program editing every single match and its participants one at a time. I know I do. Let me edit the show and then start it up and get immersed.

2.) Open editing for brands and shows. Lose the Superstars programming because that really kills what many players likely are trying to create with their universe. Let me put Raw and WCW Nitro on Mondays, let me put an ECW show, a TNA show, heck... a Legends show - and only have crossover when and where I want it. No more random run-ins.

3.) Storyline templates. Similar to how you can assign a rival. If the designers can program in, say, 10 to 15 cool standard wrestling works, complete with the backstage dramas and whatnot, and then let you assign a wrestler or two or three to the storyline.... that would be amazing.

4.) Separate how the game saves files. I can have 15 different seasons and dynasties on the go with every other game I own but I can't even restart my WWE Universe. That is just plain crazy in this day and age. I should be able to have multiple universes running - I should be able to have my pure sim universe that mirrors what is going on in the "real world", I should be able to run my custom universe, I should be able to have as many running as my game has memory.

5.) Online Dynasty mode ala NCAA Online Dynasty. Have one player designated the 'commish' role (Raw General manager), or assign a show to different members of the dynasty, and have them set the matches. Players have run-in options and play their matches against online opponents but not random guys who glitch and whatnot.

6.) Full custom editing available in Superstar Threads. I can make HHH's shorts green or red... but I can't change the logo to DX? Um.... useless feature much? Heck, if I want one of my four HHH's to have Road Warrior paint I should be able to do that. Give us full customization for the superstars. If I want an NWO shirt on Nash... that should be possible. (I still kinda hope there's something in the Superstar Threads section I'm missing...)


I figure #1, #2, and #4 and #6 are very doable and maybe could be something we see next iteration.

Great feature. Could be epic with a few tweaks.

All the things you've mentioned are holding this game back from greatness. I usually end up getting bored and quiting universe just based on the threads not being fully customizable. I'd like to change my characters gimmicks but if they don't look the part it kills my creativity and ruins my universe.

Not sure if you read the "What's going on in your Universe?" thread or not, but I've found a few workarounds to make Universe great. Sure, I'd love all that stuff too...but it's not impossible to have fun. It DOES take some time and effort though--meaning you have to juggle around with the allies/rivals a lot...and pick your battles when it comes to using the CPU Booking/Changing only participants/Customizing freely.

I've worked in all three and so far, it's been awesome. If you don't like a certain run-in by a guy at the beginning. Go back to the menu screen and change a guy to a dead brand. Typically, especially at PPV's, the CPU will recognize this and change the match. It doesn't always work...i.e. I had Edge vs. The Rock booked a couple weeks in a row despite Edge being on a dead brand. So I let it play and Christian ran in to mess with Edge. You can make an excuse why this all happened and just play with it.

A lot of it is all in your imagination!

Thank you! Yes, for instance, they booked Edge and Rock AGAIN the following Monday despite Edge interfering and Rock facing Kane at my PPV.

So i'll just say Edge demands a rematch with Rock because of what happened...and i'm sure there'll be another cool cutscene with Christian.

that feud is kinda weird aswell

and do you play the matches i forgot if you said you did or not

also my universe feels as if my feuds will be based on the matches itself besides the 2 remarkable matches i have on RAW

I play every match. I just put Edge back on RAW, as well. And I have this dumb Kofi vs. Kozlov rivalry and Kozlov had been on a dead brand since I started. Guess I will "play this one out" too.

Sometimes it does get pretty frustrating!

Love this topic... Easiest way to solve this is to make all of the scenarios that take place in rtwm available as unlocks in Universe. Also have others that are built into the mode and you have a winner.

I agree 100% because i dont know how many times when i was playing RTWM i was like really THQ u couldnt incorporate this into UNIVERSE MODE

I still say remove RTWM and give us a text based Season mode like from HCTP. You can customize it and add in CAWS and legends if you want. Because there is no voice overs anyone can join in on a storyline.
