yeah WM was not great this year, i think it was because of the heat in Miami, made the matches slow and grueling. also the few weeks before WM the buildup was good. (it was good right after Elimination Chamber, but then started sucking about 3 weeks before WM)
Extreme Rules might be good because the expectations aren't as high as they were going into WM. i bet Jericho vs Punk is much better this time then it was at WM, although I thought the segment on raw last night with Punk walking taking the sobriety test was the worst segment i've seen in some time by WWE. it was so bad, although the basic premise of Y2J calling out Punk for being straight edge was relevant and well delivered at first, it has not been going in a good direction. Punk's faking being an alcoholic wasn't funny or creative, and honestly it just makes Punk look bad. Punk's stock has decreased from last summer.
Case in point: in last night's segment, when Punk decided to recite the alphabet backwards the 2nd time (to prove that he was faking all along, and that he's really sober), he couldn't recite it backwards! he said z...y...x...w...v...u....s...t....
the angle of Jericho attacking Punk's straight edge lifestyle could have really been great and relevant to the SES of two years ago. however, the buildup of it has not been really great, except for Jericho's first promo on the subject and a few other times. lets hope the match at Extreme Rules actually provides us with a match worth talking about. With it being a Chicago street fight, we still probably won't get a long exciting back and forth technical wrestling match like the match where Punk beat Cena last summer to win the title.
Bryan vs Sheamus 2 out of 3 falls could be good, though I hope Bryan doesn't win. D Bryan has gotten really annoying. Cena vs Brock should be good too. Cody vs Big Show rematch should be good, as that arguably was one of the best matches at WM.
