I'm in the middle...I want some things back like the *** beatings guys used to get in "extreme" matches like TLC, HIAC, etc. Even if it's just once a year I can live with but would like it back. But I can live without the stuff like Trish and Vince. Especially the whole drugging his wife angle, the Kane incident (we all should know which one I'm talking about), etc. I want real characters back like we have been discussing in the Slammy thread, there are no or not that many REAL heels in the company. The only ones I truly hate are New Day and Charlotte. And I say Charlotte because of her gimmick, Ric Flair 2.0. If she had any other gimmick I would be fine with her. But guys like Owens, Rollins, I like. I like Rollins move set and KO is hilarious. So they aren't true heels. Same goes with guys like HHH, I don't hate him and you could argue he is one of the top heels in the company. And I should be hating him.

I'm with Pack and King. I'm watching '99 Raws right now and love this **** even more because I actually understand a lot more of the jokes and ****. In this time and day, no, wwe can't be like this. But back then that **** was accepted, cheered, and just awesome. Would I let my hypothetical 5 year old sit down and watch this? Of course not. That shouldn't take away from what it was at the time.

Besides puppies and The Rock, the story telling and character depth (as was mentioned) is what helped make it so great. Mankind, Taker, HHH, Rock (biased), and even ****ing Bob Holly took their characters to different levels and succeeding with them.

I'm watching during the time of the Coproreate Ministry and Austin as CEO and there's just so much **** going on involving so many different people. I feel like almost nothing that was shown was unnecessary at this time.

People blame PG too much, when it's creative (and executives directing the company) ****ting the bed.

I don't really see what you do different with the Terri scenes that accomplishes the same thing. I think you guys are bringing a little too much 2015 over sensitivity to this one. Y'all are acting like they actually showed Terri on her knees blowing the dude or made sure they got a shot of her head bobbing. You have a guy who's gimmick was being a pornstar. Of course he's going to have videos of implied sexual contact with someone. I'd look at Mae Young flashing people or birthing hands as over the top and completely unneeded on the show before any of the Val Venis/Terri stuff.

Hell, look at the stuff DX was doing and saying at the time. That was a helluva lot worse than that and we ALL thought that was funny and/or enjoyed it at the some point.

Everyone else at the time just followed up after them with their own acts.
