    Re: WWE Off-Topic

No way this isn't a work. Ambrose vs HHH at WM more than likely.

Speaking of actual releases, sounds like Itami has been granted his release.

With all the stories about people wanting out, I wonder if we might see a "cleanup day". I remember in the RA era we had a time, usually in the spring, where WWE would go on and announce several people released, basically their annual "spring cleaning". I don't think we've seen this type of "cleanup" in the past decade, but perhaps it could happen this year?

      Re: WWE Off-Topic

If it’s a work why would WWE risk their good will with websites like ESPN, Bleacher Report, Forbes, USAToday, etc by sending out a press release to them for a worked storyline?

Because if it’s true that this is a work then as a news website you start having to question every news story that WWE sends you a release on.

Well, we will know soon enough. And I will expect a written apology from everyone who is saying it's obviously a work, if he actually ends up leaving lol.

Because wrestling is a work and everything they do is supposed to be assumed as a work until proven otherwise.

I don't think it's a work. Others have mentioned the reasons why. Yes it is strange they would announce it now but everything isn't a work.

Rumored that Hideo Itami has been/will be granted his release from WWE.

Injuries really derailed his career with WWE; he missed the NXT explosion of popularity.

He started the NXT explosion of popularity. Said it last night on Twitter, but KENTA was the first huge Indie signing Trips made for NXT. He led the way for guys like KO, Joe, Finn, Sami, Nak, etc.

Nobody thought it was a work in 2013.

It was a work in 2011 though.

Yes and no. Punk signed a two-day extension to compete at Money in the Bank but didn't sign his full contract extension until halfway through the show. It was a situation very much in flux.

It's pro wrestling. These news outlets that cover pro wrestling have to know that there's a possibility that they're getting worked over.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

ESPN, Sports Illustrated and other legitimate sports publications weren’t covering WWE then so it’s an irrelevant point.

I think WWE announced it because it kind of forced their hands that those sites were picking up on the dirt sheets reports that he was leaving.

                              No context needed. Just watch.

Also, Angle announces he'll be on Raw this week to address his future. I hope if he is retiring, they give him a proper sendoff. Hardy just left, Dudleys sendoff was horrible.

He should give a retirement speech, goes to leave the ring, and then Cena comes out and encourages him to have one more match. Cena VS Angle at WM. No matter what, it's Angles last match.

No. Keep Angle out of the ring.
