Halfway match of the year 2012

Since not everything can fit in to an end of year poll which some people were displeased about I figured take a poll half way through this year,then one at the end and then one last one putting them against each other. This makes it easier to pick more than one match from each show as well. Also at the current rate it might be filled with 10 Bryan vs. Punk matches at the end of the year. Pretty tough choice already.

For me it's HHH vs. The Undertaker.

But CM Punk's two matches with Jericho and then the one with Bryan aren't very far behind. And that's a huge compliment considering how awesome HHH/Taker was.

I was thinking HHH vs. Taker, because it was awesome, but I gotta go with Punk vs. Bryan at OTL, because I wasn't even a fan of both of them and I was impressed

Punk vs Goat-Face at OTL for me. I would put Taker vs HHH second, and if it were the first time we were seeing it, I would probably have that in first. The story, buildup and significance of Taker vs H was definitely better, but the Punk vs Bryan match was a better match IMO.

Taker/HHH was a really good match but a bit too overdramatic for my tastes. I'll take the best pure wrestling match of the half year in Punk/Bryan OTL.

1B) Bryan v Punk OTL

Its very hard for me to pick which I like better, one had dramatics and the other had athleticism/pure wrestling two of the reasons why I love Pro Wrestling.

I'm gonna go with the majority here and say Trips Taker. The whole build up for it (best pre match build for WM) and the match was a classic. I was actually emotionally invested in this match and while everyone knew the outcome... they had everyone doubting what they thought at points.

The flow and feel of the match went along hand in hand with the build to it.

IMO, this is perfection for where wrestling is in 2012.

I went with Punk/Bryan OTL, but HHH/Taker wasn't far behind. The reason I'm quoting your post is because even with the crappy ending, Cena/Lesnar gets 3rd place for me. I enjoyed just having a match where someone got the absolute hell beat out of them. Surprised it didn't make the list.

1- Punk/Bryan from OTL - just a pure wrestling clinic
2- Taker/HHH from WM - best storytelling in a match in years
3- Sheamus/Bryan from ER -very underrated match that was well worked by both
4- Punk/Jericho from WM - TAP OUT YOU SON OF A BITCH
5- Sheamus/Ziggler from NWO - another underrated and well worked match

Until another match makes me feel like I did after Taker kicked out of that Sweet Chin Music to Pedigree combo, Taker/HHH gets my vote.

I guess the reason I don't think Taker/Trips is match of the year so far was because I had no dog in the fight. While, I did enjoy it, I was burnt out from Y2J/Punk.
