There are a few Ebay sellers that have copies in hand. The least expensive I've seen is $85. After playing for 2 hours in Best Buy today, I'm definitely contemplating....

Be careful. Both the $85 and $89 ones on there are pre-orders. Says it at the bottom of the $85 and in the description of the $89.

Not a smart idea guys. THQ is banning people that log in before the release date. Overpaying + ban + potential network issues... but they unban you at some point after release.

Not true. THQ doesn't have the authority. Plus they aren't gonna start arbitrarily picking off users that get their hands on the game early.

Um yes they do. It's their servers. If you're on it, you can be banned. For your reading pleasure...

That actually doesn't sound too bad, they just don't want you using the online features until release day, and if you do you are banned online until the release date and then they let you back on. So, if you get the game early, you won't get banned from playing the game if you stay off of the online features.

Like Doc said, it's their servers, they can do whatever they want. EA has started doing the exact same thing.

So, if you get the game early, you won't get banned from playing the game if you stay off of the online features.

You're still taking a risk. I would assume sometime that Tuesday you would get unbanned, however, we've seen how well they keep up their servers. It is still a risk doing it as you could be waiting several days if you're unlucky for some reason.

The way I'm reading the THQ article is that you would only be taking a risk if you use the online features. So, if you get the game early, you could still play the game with no risk of being banned, just don't play online or try to upload or download CAWs.

Be very leery of the copies on ebay. Many were stolen from Saudi Arabia (I don't know either), so they could be bootlegs or bad copies. It's a mess basically, I haven't even got my copy from THQ, and won't till Tuesday because of the leaks and issues.

With Sandys impact here would have been nice to get it early to play for a day or two. We are expected to be without power from Sunday for possible up to a week. So my day 1 purchase is in jeopardy.

What part of Mayland are you at? I've ordered my copy on Amazon today, so Hurricane Sandy premitting I'll be playing Tuesday after work. Crossing my finger that things aren't super bad.
