Undertaker hasn't wrestled since April 1st,2012 either so that's still unacceptable. I think a Punk/'Taker match would be worthless without the title but 'Taker only works one day a year too so can't have him win it. Unless they're going to start doing things like the UFC.

I think it's fine since his title reign would be ended and they would have moved one from that and onto wanting respect again. It's not like Punk is going to go over Taker.

Except this is Dwayne Johnson, the movie star, that hasn't worked full time in the WWE in NINE YEARS. He's been out longer than he was actually in. Pat Patterson has worked there for decades. Let's give him a title shot out of the blue! At least he's still in the biz.

That doesn't really address what I was talking about, which was the comparison between this and Arquette.

Like I said, I get why some of you are so vehemently against him winning, but to compare a guy who worked there for the better part of a decade and became a face of the company winning the title to using the title to promote a movie is just not correct.

There's a difference still, one movie had direct ties with the company. While the Rock could just make random appearances to advertise his movies with the WWE.

The Rock possibly winning the title has more to do with the WWE wanting to boost up their image/publicity, they want to be socially relevant,etc. Which in the grand scheme of things I believe they don't mind losing a few of the internet fans if it means they can create a larger presence publicity wise with the Rock as champ for a bit. I think sometimes people forget this is still a business and they run on the same general principles most others do.

Who is even in the Rumble this year? Remember when they had qualifying matches? Remember when winning the Rumble was a big deal? They have barely talked about it this year.
