    If You Were in Charge

Okay, with Wrestlemania done, we're at that restart point of the year where we start new. I know many on this board are disgruntled with the direction of the company. What I want to know in this thread is what you guys would do individually right now if you were in charge of the direction of the WWE? Many of you seem to have a certain direction you want to see, so I just want to see them.

The only stipulation in this is that you can't change anything past last night. Anything before Wrestlemania is off-limits, but everything including last nights results is in your hands. What direction would you take it? Who do you want to push? Who and where are your heels/faces (where as in mid-card, etc)? What storylines, feuds would you have?

Try not to turn this into an argument thread if you happen to disagree with someone's vision.

    Three things for me.

    1) Allow Phil the time off that he deserves.

    2) Have the Shield start competing and eventually winning the tag titles bringing the Freebird Rules into play.

    3) Putting Fandango in the main event, winning the title at the next PPV, and holding it for all of 2013, and in exactly 1 year have him end the streak.

I'd have Shield be named the #1 contenders since they've beaten everyone, including Cena. Reigns up first at Extreme Rules, can bring in The Rock is his cousin thing and tie it back in to WM. Cena wins of course. Rollins has a go at Payback almost winning by nefarious means but it's over turned/match thrown out or something like that. MITB Rollins gets another chance. Wade Barrett decides to interfere with intent on cashing-in his just won MITB. Shield as a whole cause a DQ/countout/whatever on the cash-in (being smart enough to wait until Barrett has already handed over the case and match started) and that sets up Cena vs. Ambrose vs. Barrett for Summerslam.

Re: If You Were in Charge

So, these are angles I would have.

Since we have over a month until Extreme Rules (May 19th), I would book an eight man tournament for the title that would go over for the next few weeks to see who would earn the shot at Cena. The participants would be: CM Punk, Fandango, Chris Jericho, Wade Barrett, Kofi Kingston, The Miz, Brock Lesnar, Daniel Bryan.

This would set up the match ups of the following. CM Punk vs. The Miz , Fandango vs. Chris Jericho , Wade Barrett vs. Daniel Bryan , Brock Lesnar vs. Kofi Kingston.

Next week: Chris Jericho vs. Wade Barrett and CM Punk vs. Kofi Kingston (Brock would lose by outside interference from the Rock(as he would taunt the Rock about not being in the tourney, setting up Brock vs. Rock at ER)
Finals: CM Punk vs. Wade Barrett with Wade Barrett winning by a cheap roll up after being distracted by mouthing off to Cena(which this could lead to a face turn for Barrett, which would be odd and cool)

Punk in a tirade basically demands that he gets the shot as he was "screwed" over by Cena and he eventually gets the shot as well as Mr. Barrett.

Too keep this from going on forever, I'll shorten everything up now into a sentence or two.

          EXTREME RULES

Match 1: The Miz defends his title against Big E Langston, to which Miz wins but is destroyed post match. (Big E goes after Miz, as he talks **** about how he won and Ziggler lost)

Match 2: Four Team Tag Match for the Tag Titles. D-Bry/Kane vs. Shield vs. Leon "Boncecrusher" Baker and Rufus "Pancake" Patterson vs Rhodes Scholars. (Match is set up as all teams make a viable reason for going after the titles (well the men formally known as the PTP basically say they should because Rufus flattens fools, that's what he does) Winners AND THE NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE SHIELD (D-Bry and Kane part ways as Kane is pissed that Bryan was in the title picture and he wasn't)

Match 3: Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio in an Extreme Rules match. (Swagger/Coulter complains about the location being unfair, so they will fight in St. Louis (close to home for Mr. Swagger) ) Winner: ALBERTO DEL RIO Swagger then snaps and destroys Del Rio post match in anger. I'M HERE TO SHOW THE WORLD. Dolph comes out and cashes in to which we get to the words we have been waiting for. YOUR WINNER AND THE NEWWWW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: DOLPHHHH ZIGGLER.

Match 4: Ryback vs. Mark Henry in a No DQ match. (They would feud during the RAWs but Henry takes the cheap way on wins, by either walking away or having Ryback win his matches by DQ.) Winner: Ry Van Berg (aka Ryback)

Match 5: Big Show vs. Sheamus and Randy Orton. (Sheamus and Orton are livid at Big Show after Wrestlemania and vow to get revenge at ER) Winner: The Big Show. (Orton turns on Sheamus, which leads to Orton and Sheamus feuding.)

Match 6: Antonio Cesaro vs. Evan Bourne (More of a guilty pleasure but Bourne has come back and impresses many on his return, but Cesaro isn't happy about that when he faces Bourne on RAW, to which Cesaro basically does the Giant Swing into the barricade this time.) Winner: Antonio Cesaro

Match 7: Fandango vs. Kofi Kingston. (Fandango sees Kofi's "dancing" as a insult to the art of dancing and takes out his frustration on him) Winner: Fandango

Match 8: John Cena vs. Wade Barrett vs. CM Punk for the WWE Title in an Extreme Rules match. Winner: John Cena after the pin on Wade Barrett.
NFL: Houston Texans / Carolina Panthers
          NBA: Indiana Pacers
          MLB: Cleveland Indians
          NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers
          NASCAR: Ryan Newman

One day, Purdue Men's Basketball and Football will become relevant again.

I would fire Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler.

The show would improve tremendously if I didn't have to hear those 2 ****ers.

Re: If You Were in Charge

                1) Have Punk get "injured." Dude needs a break. He's worn out, he's tired, he's fatigued... Can't believe he's still going, especially after that little scare that he had with his knee at the end of his reign. Give him a few months off, have him return with a clean slate and as a B.A. heel, no Heyman (let Heyman manage a younger talent) and let him go to work.

                2) Have Cena, Henry, and Ryback result in a Cena heel turn and a dominant title reign until Punk gets back.

                3) Cena drops the belt to Ryback, forms a tag team with Punk and they win the tag titles and bring credibility to the division as a New 2-Man Power Trip.

                4) While this is going on, Ziggler and company turn face and take on Swagger for the WHC.

                5) At MITB, Cena and Punk win both of the MITB matches due to interference by each other, and they both cash in later that night to win the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships.

                6) Punk and Cena are dominant for months, until they lose the tag titles to Ziggler and Langston, then they feud until 'Mania, where the winner of the match unifies the two World Titles into just the WWE Championship.

That's all I got for now haha

Re: If You Were in Charge

                  1. I would get rid of the WCW titles. The World Heavyweight Championship is not really needed and is taking the place where creative should be coming up with storylines to get feuds/wrestlers over. Furthermore, it creates a needless division of wrestlers that shouldn't be there. The WWE wants you to think that Sheamus and Cena are on the same level...but it's hard to believe when Sheamus holds a title that constantly opens shows. I dont even think alot of fans know the US Title exists.

                  2. I would move RAW back to two hours and Smackdown back to Thursday and negotiate a different TV deal with the promise to feature bigger stars on Smackdown. The 3 hour RAW severely weakens the quality of the show and although the WWE makes money off the ads, I would try to make that up by making Smackdown a higher quality show. This was the case before the WCW invasion/Brand Split and it worked out great.

                  3. I would focus more on storylines and giving the characters depth. I wouldn't get too ridiculous, just things like the Bryan/AJ/Punk love triangle or the Ryback/Henry feud. They worked really well for all parties involved.

                  4. I wouldn't mind having big time stars back, but they have to compete on the weekly shows. WM29 really suffered because there wasn't much physical build up and crowds didnt see the old stars in action that often.

                  5. I would tone down the social media aspect. It is important but not more important than the actual shows. Plus its becoming overkill at this point.

Re: If You Were in Charge

                    Cruiserweight title returns...

                    1. I do something with Kofi Kingston. Guy has talent, not horrible on the mic. I have him turn heel, joining The Shield and being the first cruiser weight champ.

Speaking of the Shield, I have the new foursome destroying guys. The Miz recruits DiBiase, Alex Riley, and Joe Hennig as a new, quasi 4h (not named 4h, but similar in swag).

                    2. I have a tag tourney on Raw for the Number one contenders. The Usos and Primetime players in the finals. The PTP win and defeat Team Hell No at Extreme rules with the help of the returning Abraham Washington. Team Hell No breaks up. PTP enter a feud with the Usos.

                    3. Cena feuds with Ryback...I like that. I don't want another Cena vs CM Punk or Orton. I don't try to set one guy a face/heel...let the crowd decide who they back. At extreme rules, Cena retains. Ryback gets a rematch on the following RAW and wins with help of his new manager, Paul Heyman. This leads to Brock being betrayed. Ryback is the new next big thing. Brock and Ryback feud. Brock eventually wins the WWE belt. Ryback turns face again by marching around the ring and slaming Heyman.

Cena goes off and joins the feud against the Shield, only to turn on Miz's stable to join the Shield (Yes, quasi NWO). They dominate and help Cena beat Brock for the belt. Carries it until WM. Eventually, the Shield hold tag belts (Rollins and Ambrose) and IC belt (Reigns)

                    4. Antonio Cesaro feuds with the newly face...Fan.Dan.Go. Could be a feud of a straight heel vs an odd face (like when goldust went face). Cesaro can't figure out how to beat this dancing wrestler.

                    5. Dolph (still with Big E and AJ) holds the belt beating Del Rio and Christian in separate feuds. I then, finally, bring back Mr. Kennedy to go at and defeat Dolph. Kennedy takes his World Title belt.

                    6. Big E feuds with Sheamus. (short term)

                    7. CM Punk feuds with Orton (short term)

                    8. Wade Barrett fueds with Mark Henry (short term)

                    9. Zeb Coulter creates the Real Americans - Swagger, Heath Slater (the 3MB disbands) Evan Bourne. They feud with Del Rio, Tyson Kidd, Drew Mcyntire (League of Nations?)

                    10. I like someone elses idea for Sandow and Cody to feud. I will role with that as well.

PPV change - All Survivor Series matches are classic 4 vs 4 except for WWE/World Championship Matches.

Royal Rumble Winner - Dolph Ziggler

                    WM 30 tentative card

Cruiser Weight ladder match - Kofi, Bourne, Tyson, Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio (official retirement match) and Justin Gabriel

                    CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan

Undertaker vs Lesnar (Hell in the Cell)

The Rock vs Jericho vs HHH vs HBK (GOAT Fatal 4 way Match)

Ziggler vs Mr. Kennedy (World Champ) vs Big E (Cashing in his Money in the Bank contract prior to WM - making it a triple threat - also breaking the stable up)

Reigns vs Dibiase for IC belt

Alex Riley and Joe Hennig vs Rollins and Ambrose for tag titles

Cena w/ the shield vs Ryback for WWE Title

I feel like this was all over the place...

Id probably surf the internet and steal good ideas left and right from the fans. Im sure they'd love the hell out of that haha.

And no, none of them would get a check for their service.

Re: If You Were in Charge

My overall objective would be to keep the younger audiences and smarks happy. I would keep it PG and have faces for the younger ones to cheer, but I'd also let the wrestlers who get organically over get into main event roles.

Overall booking: My main problem is the weak heel plot line they use over and over. Mark Henry going from monster heel to weak heel in one week was dumb. Vince McMahon looking like he could defeat CM Punk was just horrible. And now Ziggler goes from getting pinned by the Miz to being HWC. They do this with every heel and it's lame and kills the credibility of a lot of matches and WWE overall. WM was too predictable in large part because of this. I also think they should use the older wrestlers to get over newer guys like Bryan, Ziggler, Rhodes and Barret.
Back Stage Segments: I feel that a lot of the writers back stage wish they were working sit coms or drama series. They need to stop controlling what wrestlers say because they are not connecting with the fans when they are forced. R-Truth acting like bugs bunny, the bad acting, it needs to stop. Wrestlers should stick to promos they can natural do instead of being forced to act out these plot lines (EG: Kane/Cena embrace the hate angle, Taker/HBK/HHH long and boring promos last year) that are out of their range. But getting guys to do angles they can nail (EG: Swagger/ADR American angle) is what they need to aim for. They need to let wrestlers "be themselves".
John Cena: No heel turn needed. I think the shock of it is gone to a large extent because ppl are kind of expecting it and even Cena has joked about it. Keeping him as a face for the younger crowd and women is fine. After watching Raw on 4/8/13, he shows that he can be entertaining for smarks too and he should do that more often.
CM Punk: He's clearly more comfortable as a heel and I would keep him that way. Have him feud with a face Daniel Bryan could bee epic. He was diminished to an extent losing to Cena, the Rock and Taker and building back his credibility is hard. But then again, WWE doesn't take that serious though they should. They need to give him clean wins this year.
Commentary: Have JR and JBL do commentary on Raw. Michael Cole turning face helped but he cant sell what is on TV. Lawler feels like he's just not trying any more. JBL alone makes the product feel so much better. JR is the best announcer WWE has ever had. Why he is not commentating on Raw is puzzling.
