Cena never takes advantage of the commotion though. Remember MITB 2011 when Vince came out to screw Punk and Cena wouldn't let him do it.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

At this time of year I'd go on the side of unpredictable. Even if it doesn't turn out well. (Nash)

Re: Summerslam 08/18/13
I'm not going to carry this past the start of SS, but it doesn't need it's own thread so I figure it's harmless here until then.
What's the deal with Del Rio? I don't get it. I think he gets boo'd pretty heavily by the crowd. His in ring work is amazing. He puts on great matches with almost anybody you throw in the ring with him. He is technically amazing. One of the few wrestlers left who spends the entire match softening up a target for his finisher. The guy does everything right. He's got amazing wrestling skill. His biggest knock is he can't cut a promo because people can't understand him, but I do think it's pretty witty how seamlessly he bounces back and forth from Spanish to English when he does talk.Golf: Bubba

People typically boo heels if they are doing it right.
Serious question because I haven't watched a Del Rio match in over a month.
FWIW, I actually liked face Del Rio.Last edited by AUChase; 08-14-2013, 11:37 AM.Comment

I don't think anybody gets boos for the same reason Cena does, but in terms of general heel heat I think Del Rio does his job of drawing the proper amount.Golf: Bubba

I guess we're just hearing different things. It's crickets when ADR does anything normally, I think. Hell, his ring announcer had more heat than he did.
On the live shows. Might be different on the pre-taped ones where they can edit.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

2) He is ****ing terrible on the mic and has trouble thinking on his feet.
3) He gets no reaction whatsoever and the only interesting part of his gimmick was taken away last week.
4) He had about a dozen matches with Sheamus (who has had plenty of solid matches) and none of them were the least bit interesting. He has a pretty good workrate and is a so-so storyteller, but he has had plenty of forgettable "big" matches with good workers so he is the reason for that.
5) He got pushed too fast into the main event before he was ready and is now in no man's land, despite being champ.Last edited by 55; 08-14-2013, 06:58 PM.Comment

He also seems to be hurting a lot of people in matches, I imagine that's not gonna help him backstageSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

1) His in-ring work is nowhere near as "amazing" as you say. I'd mark him slightly above average.
2) He is ****ing terrible on the mic and has trouble thinking on his feet.
3) He gets no reaction whatsoever and the only interesting part of his gimmick was taken away last week.
4) He had about a dozen matches with Sheamus (who has had plenty of solid matches) and none of them were the last nit interesting. He has a pretty good workrate and it a so-so storyteller, but he has had plenty of forgettable "big" matches with good workers so he is the reason for that.

2. Didn't dispute that and I think it has a lot to do with the language barrier.
3. He get's bood pretty regularly. The heel heat he drew from kicking Ziggys head off was pretty good, the problem is creative killed that angle as fast as it started. They flipped him back with heavy heel heat then had him doing nothing with Ziggs. That's not on him.
4. His matches are always really good when he's in the ring with another good worker. Take his match from Smackdown last week. He does his usually I'm ADR I'm going to beat the crap out of your arm, and because Christian isn't a scrub he knows how to sell that "pain" throughout the match which is how ADR's story should be told based on the offense he is putting out.
5. Not going to dispute, but again that's on creative.Golf: Bubba

Del Rio started 4-1 and then lost 14 in a row before winning the last one.Comment

Re: Summerslam 08/18/13
I think WWE really dropped the ball when they turned Del Rio back to a heel. His move set is great for a face, and the crowd was actually giving him some love as a face.
I understand that Ziggler was crazy over and the move to babyface probably had to be made, but not at the expense of Del Rio
