Re: WWE 2K14 Season Pass and DLC Details

I'm not spending $20 on this game. I'm only spending $4. I was going to rent it and get it on sale later if it was any good.

You have to pay for finishers and signatures for active wrestlers in the game. Common basic moves too. Worse yet some of these moves used to be in so they're not new at all. Maybe new as in they weren't in last year (I didn't even rent it,only played someone else's copy so I wouldn't know) but they've been there before.

People would be ripping someone's spine out through his mouth if you had to pay to edit ratings and to use a spin move in Madden or you had to pay to unlock 2 handed dunks and tomahawks in a NBA game. It would be headlines everywhere, they'd be the most evil companies ever and everyone would be calling for their lisence to be revoked. Why are they allowed to get away with it here? These shenanigans won't even be reflected in reviews and it'll get the 7's and 8's it always does. I'd knock 2 points off straight away for it being an imcomplete game.

I also recall a good portion of us were celebrating THQ going out of business and losing the lisence because this type of bull wouldn't be happening anymore...now it is and it's fine? I can understand Yuke's still working on the game this year and still having those other clowns around for now but this sort of thing? No! No! No! [/bryan]

NOW if they were doing something like THQ did (and this is obviously still THQ's work right down to the prices and I have zero clue why 2K is allowing this) with the MX game where they charge $30 for an incomplete game and you can pay for the rest if you wish then it would be ok. But they're charging a full $60 with pre-order bonus. Not ok. It has to be very clear it's not ok too. People thought horse armor was ok and now look where we are. A game was just taken down off of Steam for not having an ending.

You can purchase it from the PSN Store/Xbox Live Marketplace. You buy it, and each team the new DLC is released, you go in and download it from the in-game shop.

The only really annoying thing is you have to download each item separately, instead of as a group. It takes more time then it needs to.

It converts it to cash on the 360. When I took part in the beta for it, they rounded the points up to the closest dollar amount in the conversion.

I'm actually surprised with the dlc for WWE 2k14, Steiner, Bruno, Virgil, Rude are nice surprises, the 2nd dlc pack is what I expected The Usos missing from the game is a travesty considering they were in last years game and have been pretty relevant for awhile, Axel I can live without and I didn't expect the Wyatt's or RVD as dlc

I thinks its ridiculous to charge for wrestlers who should already be in the game. Current wrestlers should be free dlc. I also don't like thag they limit themselves to these dlc packs. Dont get me wrong I am liking some of these choices but they should be able to offer more wrestlers such as curtis axel and the wyatts.

I would love to know some of your guys ages, it has to be a generational thing here. I absolutley have zero problem paying for extra content. I think its great, keeps things fresh, gives you something to look forward to, and in the grand scheme of things its relativley inexpensive. I have a feeling that the majority of you guys who think DLC should be free have to be under the age of 30 and Im going to hazard a guess and say that you think music should be free, and movies should be free, and lets just pirate everything. Oh well, for the first time I'm actually excited for this game....

That's a terrible connection you're trying to make here. It doesn't have anything to do with age or anything like that. It's about being a consumer and someone responsible with their money.

I'm 29 years old, I don't have the cash to just throw away recklessly. It's one thing to get extra content for a game, I'll pay for extra content gladly. However when things are purposely held back from the game in order to sell it to you at later date? That's garbage that shouldn't be stood for. Like Fandango and Big E both of them were around before the Wrestlemania cut off date for roster additions and yet they didn't include them and now are charging you after your 60 dollar purchase for characters that should have already been included. Then you look at the moves list. The Black Widow is one of the moves in the list. As in AJ's finishing move the Black Widow? So she's on the roster that's shipping with the game but I have to pay additional money for her move? Lil' Jimmy is a DLC move? Is R-Truth not already on the roster? There's no defending that ****.

There's also the release schedule. Showing everyone in the trailer means they're likely done or at an advanced stage of creation (as they've stated it takes three months to make a character model?) - so it comes off even more like they're arbitrarily holding things back. Like you, I'm cool with DLC, but it shouldn't be things that reasonably should be on disc.

                        (I'm 28, for what it's worth.)

I don't disagree I think its lazy of 2k and/or WWE to force us to pay for langston, Bella's and fandango when they should have been in game from the start (and the Usos not being in at all) but it is what it is

I'm 27 for what its worth

Your right, I worded it totally wrong. Hope I didn't offend you. An I hear all of your points, and agree. But the thing is, 2k doesn't owe us anything. Unfortunatly they can remove anything they want even if it was already in the game for years and years. With that being said, you have every right to voice your displeasure with their business practices. I guess I'm too old and jaded to get all bent out of shape over this kind of stuff. Haha. (36 if your wondering).

I don't understand the "2K doesn't owe us anything" statement. It's not unreasonable to expect that relevant content deemed important enough to include as DLC last year (Usos) make it on-disc the next year.

I don't expect legend DLC to carry over year-to-year (as that should be more tied to that specific year's roster), but current roster absolutely should.

I'm again going to cite their statement that it takes three months to make a model (here, near bottom of page). Fandango and Big E made their in-ring debuts in April. By that timeline, these guys should be finished in mid-summer. I'm assuming they're also motion-capturing their moves and getting music/video from WWE at the same time. They can't be put in a game by October release? They're not tied to the WM Mode, so they wouldn't need any more testing than anyone else.

That's the stuff that gets me. I like the idea of DLC (I've purchased hundreds of songs in Rock Band), but I don't like to be so obviously screwed. DLC should be things that legitimately couldn't be finished in time, be it technical or licensing reasons, or whatever - not guys that could realistically have made the main game.

I'm not sure about Big E, but I heard that Fandango was supposed to be on the main roster, but it would have been without Summer Rae with him. They made Fandango DLC so they could have Summer Rae with him.
