    Quick Question (Getting Up)

    dumb question, but i read that a few years ago wwe games took out button mashing to stand up after getting knocked down.

    is that true?

    regardless of what i press while on the mat to get up, it dont matter?

    Not sure. I still think you have to mash the buttons. I also think the REC attribute has an affect on this as well.

      hmmm..

      maybe a test is in order? put recovery at 100, then 0, dont hit anything, see what happens? LOL.

        I would test it in 2 player, that way, the CPU doesn't have an affect. Like you said, put one at 0, the other at 100...punch him until he falls...time how long he stays on the mat.

        Or, time how long he stays groggy.

          My only addition to this conversation is that at some point, with enough damage and a low enough recovery stat, it becomes impossible to get back to your feet on your own, regardless of button mashing. I know this because it happened to me in a triple threat match in my Universe this weekend, lol.

          I was laid out in the corner of the ring for at least five minutes while the computer finished the match without me. It was, to me, hilarious.

            This is why, IMO, the "jobbers" should have a real low Recovery attribute. What I saw last year, was that the SPD attribute played a huge role. Even the low end wrestlers had a chance to win because the SPD attribute was high. I think the attributes actually work better this year, but the REC needs to reflect the wrestlers "status" (main eventer, jobber, mid carder, etc)
