Help With Custom Music

I would have posted this in the "Themes" thread but it seems pretty dead.

So how are you guys getting custom songs into your game? In the past I've always just ripped the songs onto a CD-R and ripped them onto the xbox. But this year my. Xbox isn't reading the cd's. I know some of the HDD's don't recognize discs but I've never had a problem with mine. In fact I'm using the exact same CD's as last year. Any advice?

iTunes, mp3 files from guys like EricMinnesota on Youtube(God I love the Nexus/Punk theme), among other ways.

Each song has to have its own playlist, I've had no problems using the playlists spread saved on my hdd.

well are you using the same xbox or is it the newer one? my xbox wont read anything on a cd-r, but works perfectly with cd-rw discs and I also get the music from youtube too

It did dawn on me that I upgraded to a bigger HDD since last year. I've read that depending on what kind of HDD you have depends on what the system can read. I guess I'll go get some RW's and see if they work. Was mostly checking to see if you guys knew if there was a special way you are supposed to rip the music to the CD(mo3/audio/data) or if it's just a pure disc reading issue.

I needs to be an audio cd from what I've gathered. Xbox won't read data CDs and allow you to rip them to the hdd.

yea....as soon as you load a cd to read itll pop up and say you can rip it....im sure if you get a cd-rw not a cd+rw itll work
