Yeah I know, money matters and bolstering cards/prestige of other PPVs is important. That's why I'm not that mad at this match happening at TLC. However, WM has been very boring/unspectacular in recent years. They need Wrestlemania to have that same prestige again. The main event of the last two years involved someone who was an outsider to the company. It brought in money but product-wise it was one big who cares.
Having the biggest feud of the last few years with the biggest implications possible culminate at Wrestlemania would be incredible from a product standpoint. Of course, you don't need to worry about product when you have no competition.
Maybe Punk isn't the future if there's rumors swirling of retirement. If he has a few years left though, him and Bryan are the future. Obviously others will emerge as main event talent, but as of now, it's kind of sparse.
